Can’t remember a trainer being in such a strong position before. 4 outstanding prospects, with one defeat between the lot of them.It will be fascinating to see how he positions them, esp as the same owner has 3 of them.
After C’ham Vautour seemed the obvious choice for the Champion Hurdle route, but Faugheen was so impressive at P’stown that nay need a re-think. Un de Sceaux may gochasing, while there seems to be some talk of Annie Power going for the Gold Cup as a novice. Brillinat tho she is, that’s a tough ask, only legends like Captain Christy and Dawn Run have managed it, and many great ones like Night Nurse have come up short (I accept that Dawn Run was technically not a novice, she had one run the previous year).
Of course, injuries may make the final decision easierMay 7, 2014 at 07:58 #478269Mullins should be delighted to face such problems with his top-class horses.

It reminds me the golden era of Paul Nicholls when he had the likes of Kauto, Neptune, Master, Buck’s and Denman in his boxes.
I wish they could deliver as much as they did!May 10, 2014 at 11:57 #478645I remember in the 70s, Fred Winter had Pendil, Bula, Crisp and Killiney, all at the same time
May 10, 2014 at 19:40 #478694Calls to mind the story, probably apocryphal, when Fred said to his stable jockey "Eddie, you are not riding very many winners for me". To which Eddie replied "that is because you are not training the winners for me to ride".
