I bet Pressed for Time in the 4.00 at Catterick today and duly took the 11s on offer this morning.
Possibly my least favourite track, but Fallon had journeyed up for just the one mount.
Watched with enjoyment as the price shortened as the day went on.
Then as the race neared and I realised that I had been shrewd about the price, the realisation also set in that it couldn’t win, as they never do, when I’ve got a good price.
I calmed myself with the thought that Fallon wouldn’t go all that way for one losing ride.
Guess what … he had, and yet again I’ve backed a good priced loser !!
I really should give upAugust 3, 2010 at 16:31 #310783First mistake Coggy….Fallon.
Second mistake Coggy….Fallon had journeyed up for just the one mount
Third mistake Coggy….my least favourite track
Hope that helps.
Kp.s. "I really should give up" ….now you’re learning.
August 3, 2010 at 16:43 #310785Thanks Ken – fair point mate
Its just so frustrating though
Still look on the bright side , theres always tomorrow.
Sadly though that means theres more good priced losers to find. But at least theres no Catterick !August 3, 2010 at 17:23 #310791That horse was desperately bad, I backed it aswell, influenced by the fallon factor.
Useless.
August 3, 2010 at 17:25 #310793Do u work for ATR matey
August 3, 2010 at 17:31 #310796Matthew01, I think that’s the second time East has asked if you work for ATR. Do you think he suspects you’re Matt Chapman? In fact, come to think of it….are you? No, surely not? After all, you’re not a self-publicist are you?
On second thoughts….hiya Chappers.
Cheers

Haha, no I don’t work for atr mate.
Just come on here every now and then.
August 3, 2010 at 18:36 #310813Pressed for Time is a short runner. The animal only just stays 5f. It prefers Polytrack, particularly Wolverhampton, and MUST have an easy lead, something the horse can get in Class 6 races. When Eddie booked Fallon for P4T, he clearly wasn’t aware of the surface which looked softer than described – there was no way in the world Pressed For Time would stay 5f on softish ground.
I’d also wait for Eddie Creighton Jnr (3) to get on top too – this is a yard that likes to keep it in the family.
Get on Easyodds, Coggy and attach a horse alert. This one will recoup your investment ten times over when conditions are right. Chin up.
August 3, 2010 at 18:44 #310816Thanks for the info Maxilon5. Much appreciated – will do mate
August 3, 2010 at 22:32 #310835Know how you feel, Coggy … went to Southwell this evening … had a few small bets for interest and had a few quid on Budva in the 2nd race … but was just waiting for the last race "plunge" on Master of Song … thought 9/1 "earlies" was very generous and watched him backed all the way into 9/2 only to get done by a neck by the favourite’s stable mate and second string.
August 4, 2010 at 07:44 #310847That really does take the biscuit Burrough Hill Lad.
Bad luck mate.
Still you can join me in betting more good priced losers todayAugust 4, 2010 at 07:46 #310848Maybe you’ve just documented the reasons why Eddie Creighton DID book Fallon Max
August 4, 2010 at 09:06 #310858Stats for that race..All weather LTO….5 from 104=4.8%
August 4, 2010 at 22:30 #311035i tend to not think like that (if a jockey goes somewhere for the one mount), because if it did mean something, it would more than likely win, and if everyone thought like that we’d all back the horse and be quids in.
another thing, did you honestly look at this race, and look at the horses form, and think, this has an outstanding chance?
August 5, 2010 at 08:02 #311054I would not bother about it you are no different to any one else who bets, we have all said at some time why did i do that.

so true
August 5, 2010 at 11:07 #311077Hi del_boy
I did think that the horse had an outstanding chance. There was then a jockey change declared to Fallon, which was his only ride of the day.
I thought that I was quids in.
