<br>Thinking of going for the first time. Might do all 3 days so is there a 3-day ticket available?
And a lot of the stands/enclosures look sold out already so can anyone tell me if Tatts is ok as that looks like being my best bet.
February 3, 2007 at 22:33 #37659I’m thinking about braving Liverpool for the meeting, can’t make my mind up though! Might do Punchestown instead – or maybe as well……
February 4, 2007 at 01:29 #37660I’ve done Punchestown for the last 2 years. I really enjoy it. So much more relaxed and allows the opportunity for ignoring the overbet Cheltenham/Aintree form as most horses from those meetings are over the top by then.

February 4, 2007 at 10:17 #37662Welcome, Brian.
I’m not the man to answer your question but it is possible that you will get a better response if you start a thread on the subject rather than hiding it in here.;)

February 4, 2007 at 10:52 #37663As a Wirralian it’s rude not to go.
Having sampled every stand I’d say that the best place to be is County Stand Roof, great view, v. close to the winning line and quite an intimate atmosphere. Get tickets on ebay the week before/week of the meeting. Always cheaper than face value (well for the last two years anyway, didn’t check the site before that), last year paid £40 for £72 tickets!
I’ve heard from various touts over the years that Aintree is an unprofitable meeting and I’d imagine anyone turning up on the day would be able to get a decent deal.
February 4, 2007 at 11:51 #37664Not going this year as have to work (might try and fit first two days in depending on circumstance).
Woody’s on Wood Street post-racing is £1.40 for any double and mixer, bit of a rough joint but cheap enough before the party gets into full swing.
Will miss the Irish band :(

My wife has just looked over my shoulder and pointed out that it should be "who is" and not "whose".
You have been told!

February 4, 2007 at 12:42 #37666I went to Aintree the year Bindaree won and told myself i’d never go again. Very disappointing.
Not great viewing and full of lager louts that had no interest in the racing. People say cheltenham is stressful, no where near compared to Aintree. I will never go there again.
Much prefer Punchestown, wnet for the first time last year and hope to make it out there for at least one day this year. Much more relaxed and a great ‘racing community’
