    surely trying to lay up with Faugheen will just break your ‘own’ horses heart/will.

    As said many times,i dont follow hedgehopping but have wathched faugheen.one thing i would not ask my horse to do is lay up with him from the start.

    But i no nothing about jump racing,so could well be badly wrong

    Connections have said Aristo can’t race any other way, can’t hold him in the early stages and must lead otherwise pulls too hard.

    If Fugheen/Ruby wants to go faster than Aristo then in all probability he can.
    But if doing so, will probably be going faster in the first half of the race than advisable – if wanting to run his best performance rating. In other words – may give a chance to a hold up horse that’s done equal fractions.
