I placed a small in-play bet on a frame of Snooker
The odds remained static even although my player had gained an advantage so I chipped in again and again repeat as below. My player went onto win the frame but they have just refunded my stake money instead of winnings.Do I have a case to complain or is this the correct procedure.?
At the time of the 1st bet he was behind on points and the odds looked right.06-Feb-17

February 7, 2017 at 09:51 #1286243They’ve paid the first bet out as a winner so I don’t know what happened after that

February 7, 2017 at 10:49 #1286253I’d ask them to pay out the subsequent bets as winners and see what lame excuse they use.
If a punter makes a genuine mistake when placing a bet, the bookies show no sympathy and say that it’s the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the bet is correct before placing it. Why shouldn’t such rules stand the other way around?
February 7, 2017 at 13:25 #1286276Agreed. Ask the bookmaker why they have not paid out and if the excuse is not reasonable give them an ear bashing.
February 7, 2017 at 17:03 #1286316The traders have cancelled these bets because the market should have been closed. They believe that due to the time that the bets were placed, they would have been placed on already known results.

February 7, 2017 at 17:09 #1286318I can understand your frustration, but Betfair’s position on cases like this will always be to recall the bets if technical issues on the site have made a market available when it should be closed. We do have written terms on our site that outline this. Just as an FYI, if a punter places a bet in error and gets in touch with us before the event starts, we may use discretion and void the bets for them depending on the situation.

February 7, 2017 at 17:15 #1286319I explained and gave the ID bet of the 1st bet which was settled a winner with still at least 3 red balls on the table at the time of that bet, so how the market was supposed to be closed and result known therefore after makes no sense
I’m sorry Nathan, but I can’t really add much more than what I have just said, and certainly won’t be able to get the traders to reverse this decision again. I do apologise if this isn’t what you were expecting. You can read more on our rules around resettlements here: http://www.betfair.com/aboutUs/Rules.and.Regulations/

February 7, 2017 at 20:14 #1286357So you’ve got your answer Nathan. The rules of the bookie are “If we f*** up no pay out, if you f*** up we keep your brass”
February 7, 2017 at 20:28 #1286362The time between my 1st bet and 2nd is 1 minute and 10 seconds, no way would the frame be over in that time to be closed. It should have been either suspended or odds different but saying the market should of been closed.
Who changes the odds.? I can’t believe a robot does it?
Someone f**ked up on their behalf, nothing to do with the result being known imoBlackbeard to conquer the World

Is there anything else I can help you with today?Betfair’s position should be to comply with the UK Gambling Act which is now obligatory for all UK betting.
Only the Gambling Commission are allowed in law to cancel bets – no one else – whatever their Terms and Conditions may say. There is no discretion allowed – a bet once made is recoverable in UK law.
The Gambling Act also deems as valid bets on events the result of which are known – so again Betfair are acting illegally.
Betfair are completely out of order here and fortumately for cheated punters the investigations into unfair and unlawful T&Cs is going to hit bookmakers hard in back payments for illegally welshed bets.February 11, 2017 at 16:09 #1286961Do you think I should speak to them again Robert, quoted what you have written…?
I’m not crying over it as it’s only small stakes and returns but the principal seems wrong on their part.Blackbeard to conquer the World
