Incredible that this thread hasn’t been updated in almost two years.

The current government of Israel is guilty of genocide and other war crimes. Why are they still allowed to get away with it?

Because Uncle Sam says they can.

I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highways

“We later found out that Hamas had offered on October 9 or 10 to release all the civilian hostages in exchange for the IDF not entering the Strip, but the government rejected the offer.”
From The Times of Israel. I had heard about this but had to do a search to find it as I don’t remember there being any publicity about it.

Trump will have done whatever is best for Trump, which these days is doing anything to distract people from talking about a certain list that he definitely isn’t named on.

Now let’s see justice against anyone, Israeli or Hamas, that is responsible for the atrocities that have been committed. I won’t hold my breath.

“We later found out that Hamas had offered on October 9 or 10 to release all the civilian hostages in exchange for the IDF not entering the Strip, but the government rejected the offer.”

I’d heard that too but searches on it reveal that it being true seems dubious

Rather more likely I reckon, though by no means certain, is this:

    “At the start of the war, Hamas offered to release all hostages in exchange for Israel releasing all Palestinian prisoners. In October 2023, Israel held 5,200 Palestinians” {Wikpedia}

I just hope that this latest peace plan is an enduring success, and if it is I really couldn’t care less if Trump claims it as all his own work and is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Clamp your nose and simply be thankful that the Gazans will be free of the hell they’ve endured

Confidence is not particularly great however: not alone there I’m sure

Def not Drone , I’ve grave concerns , if it’s Israel that breaks it then were does that leave the West , there’s also the likely evidence of a genocide haven taken place … It’s still a very difficult fragile situation

There was another peace plan that Netanyahu turned down a year ago that was identical to the new one. It was in yesterday’s Times. I’ll try to find it…

Scrolling through the Beeb and Graun headlines this morning phrases including the word ‘peace’ are notable by their absence, having been replaced by the single word ‘ceasefire’. Hardly the same thing.

Israel have fired missiles at Lebanon overnight…

It’s only a matter of time before Netanyahu comes up with some flimsy excuse to resume hostilities in Gaza.

It’ll be the Palestinians who pay for it, not Netanyahu.

Much like Trump, Netanyahu will do what’s best for Netanyahu which in his case is making sure he never ends up anywhere near The Hague where he belongs.

The Palestinians were thrown out of their homeland. Made to live in a glorified concentration camp. Which has now been bombed to smithereens. And the whole world has watched…
