Dom Of Mary 33/1 win only
December 2, 2025 at 01:23 #1746439Dom of Mary very high on the shortlist for me too, but just holding off until I chew it over. Bet him most times he runs, and chose Saturday, to be one of the days I didn’t bet him. Wasn’t enamoured. I probably will bet him, as I’m the 33’s has held.
Few others to complicate things………
A Workinprogress – Keeps racking up the wins, and difficult to know how much progression he has in him, but they seem careful about where he goes next, and I suspect he has a big one in him. Holds an entry in London National on Saturday
Invincible Nao – Just held Dom of Mary in The Sussex National, and been in my mind for a few things since. His run The Midlands National was a concern, but probably worth another chance
O’Connell – Cracking comeback run last time at Carlisle, but has course form at Sandown, where he also holds an entry in The London National. That would be my priority for him just now. Confident he’s a winner waiting to happen
O’Toole – Always liked him, and nice win at Ayr last year, followed up by decent return at Cork last month. Very lightly raced, but he promised to be very good in his younger days. Really interested in him, but would he come over. Looks ideal for Tim Duggan Memorial over Christmas too
Val Dancer – Last years winner, and comes here only a few pounds higher. Although hard to gauge that run with the fog, it looked ok to me, and he’s well worth considering.
December 2, 2025 at 07:30 #1746447My favourite race of all.
Not gonna over complicate things and put up Haiti Colouers as the main bet. Chepstow likely to be a proper bog by the time this comes round given how much rain is around across the country just now.
He’s an outstanding jumper and I’m happy to forgive him the Haydock run.
Others I’d be keen on would include My silver lining, Jubilee express and Monbeg genius.
December 2, 2025 at 14:06 #1746468I’ve went for Dom Of Mary too at 33-1, but I’ve had a little bit on De Legislator at 66-1 ew
December 5, 2025 at 14:27 #1746658Where It All Began is my early bet at 25/1. Running well in this until a late blunder last year
December 5, 2025 at 16:50 #1746663Been looking through the form of some of those entered for the trial tomorrow and I’ve took the 50’s for collectors item as well.
Leap of faith on current form but accounted for some very good horses at wincanton last year.

December 6, 2025 at 18:25 #1746846Will be an absolutely fantastic race this year if the principals all stand their ground. All confirmed with a penchant for heavy going and all copper bottomed stayers.
I’ll be putting Jagwar next weekend and Alexei at Ascot on the 20th in some tasty doubles with the likes of Haiti, Jubilee, Mr Vango and I’ll have to cover O’ Connell as well after today’s run despite completely missing the price now.

December 6, 2025 at 21:58 #1746860One of the big fancies Tanganyika pulled up today. I am wondering if Venetia might shut up shop for a while?
December 7, 2025 at 22:21 #1747009Great list of current entries.
The first two from last year look well treated! Val Dancer just four lbs more and Jubilee Express (won the Trial yesterday) only up four (well, eight after yesterday’s penalty). Could it be a repeat?
Loads in here to like including Hung Jury who is used to lugging 11 stone plus around, with only 10.01. And that Elliott horse Beaufort Scale could be very dangerous off a low weight.
If it’s soft or better ground I’ll plump for Rock My Way who was very good at Cheltenham and Ayr last spring and kicked off this season very well at Ascot.
December 8, 2025 at 10:00 #1747016Decided to bet O’Toole. As I said, I do worry that he’s perfect for Tim Duggan At Limerick over Christmas, but I have to add him, as the odds were too tempting (possibly too big), taking up to 65’s
I’m confident that he’d go well in this, but not confident at all that he’ll run in it
Edit – Goes for Tommy Whittle instead, so added O’Connell in his place
Loser – Val Dancer
O’Connell 14.5’s
O’Toole 65’sDecember 11, 2025 at 20:36 #1747274VTC Val Dancer to swerve this for possible Classic Chase at Warwick after gallant effort in belcher chase at weekend

December 11, 2025 at 22:18 #1747291Classic chase is 10th Jan 👍🏻
December 12, 2025 at 10:37 #1747326Jonjo has to turn the corner at some point. Monbeg Genius 50-1 ew
December 12, 2025 at 14:59 #1747345That last run by Aworkinprogress was too bad to be true and it just got the cogs whirring in that was it ever the intention to run well in that race!
I’m not the biggest fan of the Soldier Of Fortune’s per se but I still think off his mark there’s damage still to be done. 33/1 seems a very fair price.
December 15, 2025 at 16:27 #1747627I was eyeing up Nassalam, but it looks as if he’s been tipped up somewhere. I will wait with him, but I have had an early bet on Mr Vango at 8-1
