    Irish TV?

Horse comes in from 14/1 to 10/1 and the Irishman in the ring goes OTT about the brilliant Irish trainer. There’s a time and a place for these sentiments.

Then Calyx wins the Coventry easily, with daylight back to those on his side… And the Irishman goes OTT about the horse finishing third who didn’t even win his side. For sure Sergei is very promising, but you wonder what an English trained horse has to do for Murtagh to give it credit. He’s biased with a capital I .

Agree. How anyone could watch that race and not think Calyx was the best horse in the race, and the one with most potential, was beyond me

I mentioned this on the Coventry thread and was quickly challenged that I didn’t know what Johnny Murtagh meant and that he might have been meaning that Sergei Prokofiev would be the better horse in time, but at a different distance.

Aye, aye, as my late mother would have said:-

“Is that right? And I had a dream last night that my erse was an orange and ye were sookin it”

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

A post-colonial hangover for sure, Ginger.

But if you watch this admittedly highly condensed (though factual) account of 20th century Irish history, you’ll soon understand where Johnny is coming from.

Grasshopper would very much value your opinion on developments at Airbus

The Easter Rising of April 1916 got nothing on the Nearly-Easter Rising of March 29th 2019 eh?

Ooh aah up the BRA :good: :negative: ???

    Drone

    I’m really not interested.

I might pm why at some stage (although it should be obvious) but I will never return to that forum.

Having flipped over there to see what it’s about, I now know first instinct not to reply was right. A pretty stupid comment there

I cannot post there even if I wanted to. Do the reasons why need spelling out?

Not the place for this or ever the time so drop it

Will do Clive, just stirring it a bit in the hope you might return. Pretty dead in there without your sparring

English football media certainly balancing things up on the flag waving front this week. Fair to say they’ve always been bipolar when it comes to the national football team, but some of the crowing following the defeat of Panama on Sunday has been retch inducing.

The venerable Henry Winter describing their victory over a glorified pub team in ornate terms… “verve”, “intelligence”, “discipline”, “reborn”, “inexorable wave” “Sparkling”, “Exhilarating”, “Sheer brilliance” roared Gary and mates on the BBC, commentator Guy Mowbray seemingly overcome by the set-piece brilliance of it all.

No wonder the sane world cheers when these goons lose, the sheer braggadocio leaves us no option.

It was a well worked set piece to be fair, the free kick one when it got rolled to Henderson on the move who hit it first time for Kane to head across to the runners in the middle. Think it was however wasted on Panama and could have been saved back for a bigger game. Who knows maybe they have more of them in the locker.

Was a well worked free kick alright.

But spare us the triumphalism until its justified for jayus sake.
