There’s much music from the ’50s and ’60s that’s for long been shoved into a corner and derided as ‘easy listening’ that’s infact kool with a capital K

September 22, 2010 at 22:14 #318807Just found a live version of Stars-Dead Hearts that I posted earlier. Fantastique!
September 23, 2010 at 15:54 #318922Finally caught Julian Temple’s excellent rockumentary "Oil City Confidential" about early Dr Feelgood (i.e. with Wilko Johnson weaving his unique style of magic on the telecaster).
This track is epic – they really are different gravy:

You can still catch Wilko on the road accomopanied by the genius bassist Norman Watt-Roy of Blockheads fame:

How time has flown since the happy house.
A great performance with the sadly missed late great John McGeoch on guitar. Sad to think this pioneer and immensely influential man had retrained as a nurse by the time of his untimely death at the tender age of 48. What a god forsaken sh*t business the music one is. Ho hum.
September 24, 2010 at 10:08 #319052Not heard that before, GC, but having heard it now- I prefer their latest work.
Fairy nuff! I’ve had the current stuff on repeated play since you posted the link, and whilst it’s very good indeed, I’m still slightly more taken with the fuzzier, slightly grubbier stuff of yore. Would happily take either over a million of the Gallagher brothers’ fetid outpourings, mind.
