    Entries………………

    https://www.racingpost.com/racecards/193/navan/2024-11-17/881094

This is the strongest looking entry I’ve seen for this in years.

    Straight off, the likes of………

    Delta Work
    Feronily
    Churchstonewarrior
    James Du Berlais
    Tyre Kicker
    Three Card Brag

………would all be Antepost contenders in a normal year, but this is bloody tough

Coko Beach is one of those that I can’t leave alone in races like this, and though off top weight, makes huge appeal. Jockey booking could be crucial. I’m also conscious that he might have a quieter season, with The Cross Country now a handicap, but he basically bets himself for me

Chianti Classico was really impressive on Saturday, and though I can’t see him travelling over, I think he can progress outwith handicaps this year, and he’s one I’d consider.

If I put my sensible head on, then American Mike or Chemical Energy, off what look fair marks, should be high on the shortlist. I think they have an obvious look to them. It’s their stablemate Riaan though, who I’m veering towards, and though I’m going to try and hold fire with an Antepost, Riaan is looking like the one who’d maybe see me buckle. No doubt though, I’ll probably end up with The Goffer

    Riaan

Happy that a good few on the shortlist don’t go. I’ll certainly have a side bet on The Goffer, just in case, but he’s hard to recommend.

Riaan surely has a target this year, and one I’m keen to stay on the right side of

Tyre Kicker just failed for me last time so may be he has a bit more pressure in him this time.

The more I know the less I understand.

Elliot has near half the field , American Mike is the class act and will be played , at some point The Goffer is going to hit form so will get each way tickle

Some rogues in this. Just trying to see the wood through the trees is hard enough. I’ll have a small go on Yeah Man and Riaan.

I don’t know why I bother with these Irish handicaps

I really didn’t enjoy watching it. Hopefully no more than two fatalities, one of them was poor Curchstonewarrior.

Well done winners, in case one of you had him on his Elliott “shortlist”.
