Blame Roberta 20/1 e/w
Last run behind Second Generation looks good now, as she has come out and won a Listed race. Come On Leicester was a good 5th in the QM prior to her second aswell in that race giving it a solid look. Nice low weight and Quinn is shrewd, he’ll have her tuned for this.
July 20, 2018 at 17:36 #1360678I particularly like three here, with a saver on a fourth.
Agree with you Kev (and Jack) Brave Roberta is over-priced. Far less exposed than many of these. Just the two runs – albeit undoubtedly needs to progress. Taking in to account showed quite a bit of improvement at Windsor despite not getting away on terms… If well out of the gate this time, that upward curve of form could give her a chance here – in a race with fewer progressive types than normal and many racing over a trip seemingly short of their best. Managed to get some 25/1.
Another at a big price is Snazzy. Well beaten in the Queen Mary but before that had run the Queen Mary winner to 1 1/2 lengths in a York 5f listed event. Even though winner Signora Cabello improved at Ascot, it was still a good enough performance to suggest is in with a squeak here off 8-10. What went wrong in the Queen Mary? Not sure, seemed to me got snatched up early and raced towards the back of the disadvantaged group. Before that was a rare Charlie Fellows first time out winner. imo Worth a bet at around 33/1.
Those two drawn on the Stand rail which can be a disadvantage these days, but several drawn/raced there on Friday ran well.
Another Queen Mary also-ran from that same far side at Ascot – Red Balloons looks the very best value here. As they pointed out on ATR this morning, Timeform make her top rated and one of the few with a “p” for improvement likely. Travelled well for a long way at Ascot, up with a very strong pace. No surprise couldn’t last home. Drawn more towards the middle in 17 here. Subsequently held up and showing a good turn of foot, fairly easy winner of a Class 5 novice. Available @ 12/1 earlier today, wouldn’t surprise me if going off half those odds.
My saver is the top weight (if there is such a thing in a non-handicap) Little Kim. But isn’t badly in having improved last time out when winning a French Group 3 by a length from Queen Mary favourite/disappointment Chelsea Cloisters. At Newbury imo the very best of the draw is often found with those racing in the third quarter from the stands, so in that respect a draw in 12 looks as good a spot as any. Although didn’t seem much advantage/disadvantage on Friday’s results.
Value Is EverythingJuly 20, 2018 at 17:49 #1360680I’ll bet a couple here, have taken the 16’s to 6 Places on Snazzy. Haven’t bet her yet, but I’ll definitely side with Society Queen win only around 18’s as well.
July 20, 2018 at 19:40 #1360695Kinks for me at 6/1
July 20, 2018 at 21:37 #1360705Red Balloons, Kinks and Tin Hat were my three to focus on. In the end I decided to rank them:-
1. Tin Hat
2. Red Balloons
3. KinksI am not a Channon fan and I like the effort Tin Hat put in last time.
£2 on Tin Hat and a 50p Tricast

Good luck, we’ll all need some.
PS Tin Hat is a shade of paint I bought the other day and if that’s not a good way of picking horses……

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
July 21, 2018 at 11:17 #1360772I have backed three in this cos of the six places!!
ON THE STAGE at 20/1
RED BALLOONS at 17/2
BLAME ROBERTA at 18/1I know class quite often comes out best in this but have gone for potential rather than proven form.
Good Luck Guys
July 21, 2018 at 15:36 #1360819Tin Hat & Buckingham for me.
Saver on Kinks.
July 21, 2018 at 15:37 #1360820Added a bit on On The Stage last minute. That’s it now.
July 21, 2018 at 15:45 #1360823Did Ginger not have the winner…?
what a nut..
Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
July 21, 2018 at 23:29 #1360842Thought Blame Roberta did pretty well after a dreadful start. Enjoyed Fahey’s failure in the race. Jammy git still managed to get 10th place prize money
July 23, 2018 at 16:48 #1360934No,Nathan. Despite Ginger Nut/s being one of my school nicknames.

Snazzy my best. 6th one out of getting a 33/1 place.
I was right about Red Balloons halving in price, but no reward.
