Good luck Wilts, Port Lonsdale if he stays he wins, but at the price i could not bring myself to play.

I would like to think PL stays as he’s a brother to Broome. I got lured in by words again. The words of Charlie Johnston last month when he said the first time Jason Hart rode him he claimed ‘this horse will win the gold cup’.

The O’Brien/Moore wagon is rolling at York and has to be Point Lonsdale, Moore has been unstoppable.

The more I know the less I understand.

Got 2/1 last night on Gregory w/o Point Lonsdale and Vauban.

Thought it was a cracking price.

Gregory was one of my ante-post bets for the Gold Cup but disappointed there. Much better in the Goodwood Cup and could well step up again here.
Point Lonsdale is an obvious danger. Impressive when stepped up to 13 1/2 furlongs in the Ormonde before placed in a Group 1 12f race in France. Would not be surprising if he improves again stepped up further. That said it is a fairly big step up.
Those two imo not only have the best form but are also the most likely improvers (other than the 3 year old who needs to progress considerably). However, Point is a front / prominent runner at 12f and 13f, will he need to do something different today? And Gregory’s best has been when racing prominently… And on paper there is a lot of pace in this race. Too much?
If they do then it’ll suit Vauban, but there isn’t a definite reason for his poor showing last time out. Race came too soon after a hard race not staying 2 1/2 in the Gold Cup – possibly?
Alsakib had the race set up for him in the Group 3 Silver Cup. Shouldn’t really be quite good enough if it’s a slow or fair pace, but if getting a strong pace…

I’ve done Alsakib and Gregory with a saver on Point Lonsdale.
