Ladbrokes went 5/1 Sole Power at 9am so I’ve topped up on him as the going and draw has been kind to him.
The trainer has reported him in good health and it would make great history if he pulled it off.Kings Stand – SOLE POWER 5/1 £5.00 Each/Way Ladbrokes

Blackbeard to conquer the World
June 16, 2015 at 18:08 #1105879There is a lot of confidence behind Ivawood and I have already backed him at 7/2 and will go in again with Paddy’s offer. The 7f should be right up his street with his explosive pace and if this doesn’t win I will be very disappointed, he got Gleaneagles to work at the Curragh although the going suited neither and with the going the way it is at Ascot I don’t expect the others to see which way he’s gone.
Jersey – IVAWOOD 13/8 £10.00 bog money back as free bet if 2nd or 3rd Paddy Power

June 17, 2015 at 19:27 #1106122Was that really Ivawood? He didn’t run with any enthusiasm at all, usually Hughes has to get a tight hold of him. I’ve got Peacock and Tiggy Wiggy left with Hannon and I wouldn’t be over confident the way the two days have gone at least Osalia gave the yard a much needed lift. I was really confident going into the week but even after two days I feel like a nervous wreck. This game can make you look stupid at times. If Peacock goes down I might just get the ladder out the shed and come out of window cleaning retirement………
Peacock wins though….

Tiggy Wiggy goes for me tomorrow but my confidence in Hannon’s runners isn’t on fire at the moment, how he never had the winner of the first today was suicidal with both Frankie and Buick cutting each others throats. O’Brien’s horses and Moore are on a team on fire but I think Found could be worth taking on and I’ll just hold on for now and see if Lucida touches 4’s as I rate the French horse a danger and would want the place side of it on my side but even then it would only take 2 non runners to take it down to 2 places.

June 19, 2015 at 08:35 #1107030Things didn’t quite go to plan for Lucida in the 1000 Guineas, she nearly unshipped Manning when the gates opened and had to go wide to challenge, possibly went for home a little to soon. She has been left alone since with this the target. I’ve had to go each way as two problems could emerge. If the pace is slow the French horse possibly has a better turn of foot and the other problem is the form of O’Brien however I think Lucida with a bit of improvement from her previous outing and the going will see her go close.
Coronation Stakes – LUCIDA 4/1 £5.00 each/way 1,2,3 1/4 odds

June 19, 2015 at 09:02 #1107040Zoffany’s have been running well on the going this week and Hannon has one going in the Albany. Illuminate beat stable companion Great Page who took a decent enough sort of contest over in Ireland. Wesley has two runners here who have to be respected but if they go to quick over the 6f they will set it up for Hughes who has to have a winner at some stage, surely……???
Albany – ILLUMINATE 4/1 £5,00 each/way 1/4 odds 4 places

June 19, 2015 at 16:23 #1107122We’ve just seen why Richard Hughes will win this years jockeys championship.
Shooting off to Goodwood this evening the amount of miles travelled and the amount rides will win him the title.
William Hill have fallen for Moore’s hotspot. Yes he’s great but the big races and prize money is what he’ll be chasing and Hughes in his final year will be all guns blazing.Flat Jockey Championship – RICHARD HUGHES 11/8 £10.00

June 20, 2015 at 09:17 #1107769Stoute’s have been running backward this week but this is his star turn. Telescope didn’t beat a great deal last time with Windshear back in 3rd I could beat that horse with a Weston donkey but it was the manner of his win that stood out. The layers are taking him on and he’s out to a backable price now.
Hardwicke – TELESCOPE 7/4 £10.00

Agreed the Ryan Moore fan club have probably exagerated his chance and if I was betting on this would follow you in Nathan. But do you think Hannon will give Dobbs and Levey more rides during the season to gell them in for next year Nathan?
Am delighted Hughsie is moving in to Champion Trainer Atty Persse’s old Stockbridge yard where he trained The Tetrarch. Mick Channon started his training career there.
Value Is EverythingJune 20, 2015 at 14:33 #1108095That will be a slight problem but I expect Hannon to stay loyal to Hughes. The two lads you mention plus Cam Hardie do a lot of work riding at the yard so know the horses well anyway. I don’t think it will be over important as it seems this day and age the top horses are being sold so the likes of Frankie’s lot and the boys in blue will get a lot of the good mounts next year anyway. I think if Hughes wants it badly enough he’ll get the rides and Moore always goes on his travels at the end of the season. Could anyone else enter the race to be champ?

I know Joni has backed Silvestre. Depends on what he can get up North. Buick has a squeak, but can’t see him getting enough rides.
Hughsie is over the hill; quite literally for me.
Value Is EverythingJune 27, 2015 at 08:52 #1116641Hughes indicates his training regime may take him out of the Championship race if things kick on early for him so I’d be wary if betting on him.
