Anyone see the 7.55 at Catterick? I thought I’d been ported back to 2003.
It reminded me of Nearly Before Time’s Wolver victory. I can only hope that it brought similar rewards for those behind tonight’s betting moves as Nearly Before Time’s layers got.

What happened – the winner a "name your stake and price" drifter that conspired to win?
August 15, 2009 at 00:41 #243954The out-of-form but different class fav was absolutely pummelled: 1.8ish into 1.45ish.
Then one by one his main rivals fell away. Three were out of contention before a furlong had been run!
One was withdrawn before the start, the second fav got off to the tardiest of starts (appeared to have the blindfold left on, but can’t be sure as the start is missed on the RUK replay) and Tony Culhane was having trouble with his irons throughout the race on the third in.
This left only the two horses with the worst chance on paper to serve it up to the jolly. The jolly failed to fire and the two no-hopers filled the first two places.
