Posh totty for me. Megan Nicholls much easier on the eye if they want to go down that route

The poll is closed and, by a decisive margin, Sheikh Mohammed has been voted what TRF would most like to rid British racing of.

Robbie Dunne was clear second choice.

I think it is fair to say that both are reviled due to impressions formed regarding instances of their perceived treatment of women.

Many thanks to everyone who voted and congratulations to Homer Simpson, who penned the endorsement of the evictee and is therefore declared the winner of the contest.

Many thanks also to the other contestants, especially those who penned the other excellent endorsements.

Broadcasters were the next three choices and, while some may feel that was harsh, I must say the following exquisite line from The Krypton Factor not only hit its specific target, but IMO is a superbly-accurate indictment of so much that is wrong with modern broadcast journalism generally.

He wrote: “His disappointment is palpable whenever his pre-conceived narrative is foiled.”

    Nail….on….head – smashed it.

    BAD LUCK SHEIK
    WELL DOH HOMER.

We are talking here about icons, not – repeat not – posh totty. A Virna Lisi lookalike that can sing like a bird, even with 50 years of additional camouflaged worry lines is something to be savoured. Isn’t it ?

Homer and many others may know that I pick up many things in the street, rarely though vintage pop stars. There is little doubt that Debbie Harry saw my approach. Little did she know we had so much in common, both being heavily steeped in pop culture. She sung it and I delivered it. Heart of glass was number one, similarly the Corona cherryade I delivered was the top seller in glass bottles and heart shaped to those that loved it. We are both vintage and past sell by and approached each other tentatively with our wares displayed on wheels.

Ten days ago in outer west London not twenty yards from the spot I discarded a £3000 moth eaten Dunhill coat I chanced upon last Xmas, I spied an old ladies shopping wheelie discarded, or mistakenly forgotten, and at a bus stop. I would never buy such a thing, but the freeness of it was the major allure, despite it’s slightly non extendable handle, and I adopted it but not without a furtive Hilda Ogden look around.
Debbie had the small designer look wheels I had the larger, much larger spoked wheels but we moved together with a communality but at different speeds.
I was masked wearing a baseball hat, blue shorts above the knee, an old levi jacket and Prada trainers without socks. I may not have made a good impression ? I also wore a haversack and was heavily laden with wine and weighty shopping impeding my pace. Despite the mismatch I looked more relaxed than her.

On Friday Harry flies to Glasgow to start her British tour.
    Tickets around £150
    I shan’t be there
I’ve had me ten quids worth.

“Just practicing a little bit of narcissism” – that much was (fairly) obvious, but thanks for confirming.

I like to think this one went quite well.

I’d like to think there is a third group – those who are hopefully like neither of them.
