    No, not the rotund Labour politician with the two Jaguars but the Richard Fahey trained sprinter Steve Prescott.

    After running well in some decent races he made the most of a drop in class last time, running out a ready enough winner. The reason for being interested in him following up is because he tackles an easier race this time and will be top weight in the Greys sprint race at Newmarket. He faces a few old cuddies here and I think he’s got a better chance than the 11/2 odds available suggest as he’s one of the few with a little bit of class and has some potential to improve.

    Steve Prescott ran OK but was a little bit disappointing I felt. I expected him to pick up a bit better but perhaps the slower ground and the uphill finish coupled with the rise in the weights did him in in this slightly lower grade race. Rewarded each-way punters though.
