June 12, 2011 at 11:21 #360255Bill, me and Alan go back a few years and he knows I’m only messing about. And don’t worry Alan will pull it round

This is a bit different to Formaths thread as it’s higher turnover and lower margin but I believe it would suit the style of betting you have expressed a preference for since you have been on here – low stakes, place market 3 or 4 punts a day? Or am I wrong?
If (and it is a big if) these selections match what I’ve achieved before with this system and staking I would expect the following returns:
Stike Rate – 55% – 60%
Ave Win – 2.30 – 2.50
ROI – 8% – 9%
Profit Increase over Level Stakes – x 4Mondays Selections
3.30 Sedgefield – Final Flyer
3.30 Sedgefeild – Wotchalike
5.00 Sedgefield – Lisbon Lion
5.30 Sedgefield – MardoodBetfair Place Market at SP
Base Stake £2.00, Aim £1.00June 12, 2011 at 12:50 #360267It was only a leg pull

You question my style of betting and I wish I could give you a definitive answer but your assessment is not too far adrift.
I do like better than level stakes but when push comes to shove (as they say) and the stakes take me out of my comfort zone the bottle goes and the bottom squeaks.
As for the number of punts per day, well I am not sure. I enjoy the involvement/volume but the desire is to raise the stake value and am unwilling to do both.
I shall watch with great interest.
Great start with Medicean Man being 3rd

June 13, 2011 at 13:12 #360461Bill,
I see that Pompous Pete is endeavouring to cash in on my pending demise just because I have been offline for a couple of days. With regard to place betting he wouldn’t know a good one if it jumped up and bit him on the backside in my experience.Just thought you ought to know I am still out there
June 13, 2011 at 13:24 #360463Bill,
I checked out the place bets indicated and you might care to note that sometimes the chap doesn’t even know which race his selectionas are running in

I did notice you are starting to get technical with the staking and I have said this plan no matter how good goes right over my head.

I advise caution when singing the praises of Pompous Pete, I mean just one luck in running winner and it seems he is tipster of the year. I notice he has bowled a googly today by digressing from hcap hurdle races to take in a maiden hurdle, which is unusual. Any way it doesn’t fool me
