I saw an article in a local Kent newspaper on the weekend and thought I would post it here.
Please be so kind as to pass on to other forums and to friends and colleagues – and if you are able make a donation.
Would be sad for the infirm animals to have to be put down after so much work was done to save them in the first place.

Well done on posting this, an extremely worthwhile thread, I’ll be acting/making a donation tomorrow.
July 14, 2010 at 11:20 #306315A very worthy cause, I’ve made my donation now come on guys, every penny counts, even if every member gave a miserly £1 note that would be nearly £10,000, ok I know not all members are regular visitors but this is only going to work if we keep this thread going, if someone adds a donation and a message every time this thread drops off the "Recent Forum Topics" box that’ll help no end

used paypal? How dya do it?July 14, 2010 at 15:41 #306397Donation done. It wasn’t a huge one by any means, but as someone has already said, every penny counts.
Matthew, you need a Paypal account first. Do you have one? If so then it’s easy, when you choose to pay via Paypal the site will automatically direct you to the Paypal site. Just log in, type in the amount you want to pay, and click on Pay.

I haven’t got one, I’m gonna see if I can send a cheque, cheers.
July 14, 2010 at 15:59 #306403Well you’ll have a few problems paying by Paypal if you don’t have an account then

I tell you what, I’ll donate £50 for you from my Paypal account and you can just send me a cheque for £100. Is this ok?
July 14, 2010 at 18:48 #306458Well done Ivanjica for highlighting this awful story, I have given a donation and prey they reach their target for keeping the refuge open.
Everyone on this site should donate at least £1 to this worthwhile cause.

Absolutely Phil, I give to animal charity’s anyway, this is such a worthwhile cause.
July 15, 2010 at 00:55 #306524I sent an eamil to godolphin the other day. Maybe if we all choose a wealthy owner/breeder and make a representation the £600k may be reached – from memory I think they got to about £250k-ish so we are talking £450k so not a lot really. I know times are hard for many, but if we all give a proportionately small amount hopefully it will work.
I think we who gain immense pleasure from the horse should at least give a little bit back.
July 15, 2010 at 08:52 #306552I googled the refuge and found that the BBC ran an article in December saying that Simon Cowell was helping, it seems to be moving quite slowly considering the time lapse, maybe someone with press connections could pitch a story, the X factor always seems newsworthy

They mentioned Mr Cowell’s support in the local paper that first alerted me to the article. One would hope given his immense wealth that if all else fails he will step in with the final required amount if necessary.
Yes, a good shout re: press / media connections reading this. Can anyone get the story some ariplay on one of the racing channels perhaps?
July 15, 2010 at 23:14 #306763Is this a registered charity? Could see no mention of their stauts on the website?
