Interesting to see money for the other JP horse today.

As a big Jarvey’s Plate fan, hoping that Elixir De Nutz win this!

It’s certainly a bit of a gamble going on JJM, you could have got Birchdale at 8s
yesterday. He’s as short as 2s in a couple of places, he could be vying for fav
at this rate come Saturday. Good luck with EDN, he looked the part winning at
    Cheltenham last time out.

I’m going to take a bit of a chance with Idee De Garde at 33s. I watched
him win 1st time out at Ayr last January, he traveled like the winner from some
way out and won as he liked having taking the wide route throughout. He was ridden
by Ryan Day like he knew he was on a good one. Not sure why he didn’t appear after
that, or why the change from Nicky Richards to Dan Skelton in October, but on his
only outing since then he ran out a strong finishing 2nd behind a very decent one
in Champagne Platinum at Newcastle last month. That one ran out an impressive winner
next time out at Newbury which hopefully boosts the form of the Newcastle run. Whether
he’s up to this is open to debate, he will certainly need to come on quite a bit, but
both runs suggest to me that there’s plenty more to come. This is his 2nd run since
his wind op in September, he should be ready for this if he’s good enough.

Looks like we’re in with a shout JJM having made the final 6. Hopefully
Idee De Garde can keep 3 behind him for a decent place, and you never know,
he might be as good as I hoped he was and take a hand in the finish.
Good luck with Elixer de Nutz, he’s the one with the most blue about him
    in the markets this morning.

I don’t know what all that was about Birchdale, gambled down from 8s to 2s
yesterday, and he’s a no-show. Somebody got their fingers burned

I really like Elixir de Nutz. I think he won last time against good opposition with something in hand.

Can’t make my mind up about anything here except that Idee De Garde is well overpriced at 33s, so I’m with Big G. Wasn’t given a hard time at all last outing and track and ground should suit nicely. He could nick this up the hill to give Skelton his first Grade 1

Henderson had several options, chose to run only one, picked a stinker.

    Too bad to be true.

How is it to bad to be true

What gave the horse the right to perform at proper grade 1 level? If that was trained and ridden by the skeltons and owned by a smaller owner it would have been 3rd fav

These connections (hendo/mcmanus) have a massive amount of these stepping up in grade hotpots beaten just because of the owner trainer, id actually like to see the stats on this, because its alot lol

The way it jumped differently to Newbury, the manner in which it slowed to almost a walk prior to the second last – that’s why it was too bad to be true.

Stepping out from a very weak maiden win into a small field but a proper novice grade 1 is likely what found him out, wasnt the ground or trip, jumping at a quicker tempo against more experienced horses, he didnt really make any race ending mistakes, he was just beaten by better horses, was a bold move to bring a “baby” as the itv team persisted on calling him, slowed to a walk at the end because the middle of the race caught him out.

Not ruling the horse out in the future, just dont see how it was too bad to be true when hes only had 1 previous start in a nothing race

I don’t think the front pair will be top drawer superstars, but both nice horses, + it was a decent finish. I will definitely side with both of them at some point
