Hopefully it was more of a case of losing his action rather than going wrong if he was able to walk

I wonder if it’s the leg that was infected which has weakened the tendon? When you think of the love and care that has been put into him to save him this is heartbreaking. Fingers crossed for him.

I hope the poor horse is okay.

Absolute disgraceful by Nico holding that horse up off a crawl. Henderson said he’d not over complicate things and just make his own running earlier in the week.

These guys have done nothing but ruin great horses this past couple of years.

Shishkin, Constitution Hill and Sir Gino.

Had enough of this stable. Hope poor Constitution Hill gets a minor issue and is retired other than Nico killing him in the Champion Hurdle.

Nico can’t ride fast horses. Guy is completely gone at the game.

Hendersons yard is bad for the sport.

If it is the tendon then it will be operate then rest , back next season hopefully over a fence , horses can come back from them , the legend that is Native River did , in fact twice … and won a GC

Easy GM , Ruby could have been riding him and the same would have happened , I’d say going a crawl rather than full pelt when it happened is a good thing

Agree with you GM23. Why is it always the Henderson yard that stands out when it comes to drama?
Injured horses, horses that are apparently out of a race and then back in it again, horses that can win a CC and go back over hurdles, and so on….

Glad he’s walked off, hopefully can be saved.

On the race itself, the new lion has absolutely 0 chance in a champion hurdle. Talk about pace, talk about tactics all you want, lossiemouth will lap him, how on earth is she not half the price of him

I was thinking the same. Jockey not to blame.

“If it is the tendon then it will be operate”

Not always that simple. There’s hardly any give in a tendon, if that’s the problem it depends what tissue is available to fix

Potentially a pelvic injury (not a lower hind leg injury) now being mention by Nicky with Matt

    Pelvic injury for Sir Gino.
Fingers crossed it’s not a bad one.

Is that better or worse ? , I’m no Henderson can but he must be getting scunnered with this , they say when life gives you lemons make lemonade , Henderson could open a lemonade factory…

Really irrelevant whether he is able to race again, as we now all just want the horse to be able to recover from the injury and have a good quality of life coming out the other side of it….anything more than that is a bonus.
