Sorry to bother you with this but is anyone else getting seemingly random underlining of text within posts which results in an advertising pop-up when hovered with the mouse ?
The most recent one being the words "injured in" on Black Gold’s post in the new Newton Abbot Foam Hurdles thread, which pops-up an industrial injuries claim ad
Have a feeling I’ve downloaded something suspicious so your help would be appreciated
edit: in fact my words "injuries claim" above have also been underlined and point to a pop-up
July 9, 2013 at 10:28 #445199Black Gold’s post is fine for me, think it must be something you’ve downloaded.
I had a similar problem a while back, I downloaded some supposed ‘update’ for Google Chrome, afterwards I kept getting adverts on every site I went on similar to what your describing. In the end I had to uninstall Chrome then reinstall it, works fine for now
July 9, 2013 at 11:27 #445201No pop ups on Black Gold’s post for me either.
I had an annoying one the other day on You Tube..Suddenly a pop up appeared saying2 people are spying on you’ click here to find out
who they are
. Of course it was an advert for Spyware and nobody was spying on me, felt like I was an MI5 agent for a moment

You might already have tried this but some info here on getting rid of the irritating pop ups:

The same happened to me not too long ago, also had to uninstall and re-install Chrome.

Just to double check I would try typing in Sham 69 or anything to do with blue tits and see what you get

You have
malware
on your system, download the free version of
Malwarebytes
from [code:24w1htdl]http://www.malwarebytes.org/[/code:24w1htdl] and run a scan.
For more serious stuff, start up your computer in
safe mode
and then run Malwarebytes.
This stuff usually gets on your system if your browser is Google Chrome as the security sucks.
If you go on any of the warez websites you can pick up a pro version for free

; are you up for Nathan’s Ashes quiz? good fun so it isIs Jimmy Pursey alive and well and living in a farmhouse in deepest conservative Dorset, like that comfortably off red-wedger Billy Bragg?

July 9, 2013 at 21:04 #445245Have submitted my prediction for the Ashes, somewhat pessimistic I’m afraid. I’ve a fear we could be 2-0 down after Lords next week if we start this series similarly to recent ones. Would have preferred Lords to have been the first test to get it out of the way.
July 10, 2013 at 10:45 #445289It was indeed Chrome that was infected. Thanks for Malwarebytes TBB but it didn’t pick anything up though will no doubt prove to be a useful utility in the future
In the end had to uninstall Chrome twice; the second time deleting all my bookmarks, browser settings etc which will be a minor pain to replace. Then the new ‘virgin’ Chrome allowed me to remove the offending extensions and add-ons manually. How they got there I don’t know
Thanks again for the help

You can back-up your bookmarks in Chrome into an "html" file so, you will not lose them again:
