Le Milos @ 33’s
No idea if this is the plan but looks dangerously handicapped off his current mark if it is
. Won the Hennessey or whatever it is called now a couple of years back off 147 so should just about get in if they are not too cute with him.
February 20, 2025 at 23:19 #1720961This usually goes to the home team but I’ll try one of our lot. Runs at Exeter tomorrow so it’s tough to run 3 miles on soft then turn out less than 3 weeks later…so I’m making use of NRNB. She’s mare I’ve liked the look of and think will suit the step up in trip and is doing well since kissing spine surgery. Backed her at 13-8 tomorrow and for this
La Malmason 16-1 ew 5pl nrnb b365
February 23, 2025 at 22:48 #1721242I like it greenasgrass.
Talking of that Exeter race, I’d have loved to have seen Don’t Rightly Know entered in this or the Kim Muir. Would have been great to see a small stable (Polly Gundry) have a horse in such good form running at the Festival.
I do wonder what they have in mind for that one.
February 24, 2025 at 11:03 #1721251I had my first proper look at this last night and came down on three. However, I swiftly ruled Masaccio out as it sounds as though he’s going to swerve this which I found quite surprising given he looks like he wants 3 miles.
I’ve come down on Henry’s Friend as my main bullet and taken the 16s with Bet365, each way.
My other fancy is La Renommee, a general 33s shot, but not backed her until I can find some evidence it’s her intended target. She’s entered in the Mares Chase and the Grand National, though would be unlikely to get a run in that.
February 24, 2025 at 20:11 #1721286Backed SEQUESTERED 16’s, good effort over extended 2m5f grade 3 last day, won over 3m day before, I like him.
Will keep an eye on MYRETOWN, the runner up of his latest win runs on Sat, that could sway me. Lucinda Russell hoss so probably end up at Aintree, will have to be NRMB.February 28, 2025 at 14:53 #1721464I’m drawn to Stay Away Fay as the horse dropping down in grade, has ran well at cheltenham a few times. Mark of 150 seems feasible and the inflated ratings of other horses should help those with this profile.
33/1 EW underestimates the horses chance
March 4, 2025 at 22:30 #1721885Ginny’s Destiny 18/1
March 6, 2025 at 00:19 #1721970Had a mare with Whistle Stop Tour here. On the verge of backing it at 28’s, last midweek, only to see it blue across the board and down to 16’s next morning. Held back again, as I was hacked off, and he’s now 10’s. Going to wait again. By the time I actually bet him, he’ll be 7-2
I have bet another though from the early shortlist, Happygolucky.
Cracking comeback/debut for new yard, who I follow, over a short enough trip here on Trials Day. He’s placed twice at The Festival, including in this when 100-30 Fav, four years ago. He’s seven pounds lower now, and twelve pounds lower than he was in this 2 years back. I seen enough last time to think he retains enough ability, and think he’ll go well
Happygolucky 33’s EW 5Pls NRNB
March 6, 2025 at 14:46 #1721983A pretty lucky race for me over the years.
Famous Bridge will do for me at 20’s.
Always like previous form in these kind of races and he follows roughly the same route he took last year to finish 4th in this.
Trewlane probably a saver on the day.
March 9, 2025 at 14:34 #1722277My top figures are as follows:
166 Guard Your Dreams
165 Zanahiyr
162 Search For Glory
161 Trelawne
161 Broadway Boy
161 King turgeon
161 CrebillyThe top-rated Guard Your Dreams 50/1 7 pl e/w 1/5 odds Skybet not an obvious choice but has run some decent races at Cheltenham. A few of these won’t be favoured by the drying ground but the selection has no problem with it.
March 9, 2025 at 15:11 #1722287I feel sorry for you venture to cognac.i took 28s for Whistlestoptour also took 40s for the Kim muir and nh chase nrnb.
I’ve added king turgeon as well.
And might do Malinas girl.March 9, 2025 at 19:12 #1722306I’ve added Katate Dori in some multiples and Trelawne as a single and a double with Beyond your dreams for the Fred Winter
March 9, 2025 at 19:45 #1722313Sequestered form took a nice boost last weekend with Monbeg Park winning easily so I have gone in again.
March 9, 2025 at 19:51 #1722314Always fancy those with previous festival form and for me 2 are strong in this area.
Zanahyir and Straw Fan Jack might have a small EW on both.
You've got to accentuate the positive.
Eliminate the negative.
Latch on to the affirmative.
Don't mess with mister in between.March 9, 2025 at 19:59 #1722316Zanahiyr for me too 50-1 ew 6pl b365
Likes decent ground, previous G1 form albeit over hurdles, Cheltenham form, good claimer on board, big field handicap chase experience including good 3rd in the Galway Plate, goes well fresh.
March 9, 2025 at 20:19 #1722319Ended with The Short Go, Myretown and Zanahyir. The Short Go almost won here at the October Meeting and surely has been aimed at this race. Also like Myretown at a low weight and clearly progressing and finally added Zanahyir who has always performed well at Cheltenham. Not the best jumper, but at this price it is worth a punt.
The Short Go 16/1 EW
Myretown 16/1 EW
Zanahyir 50/1 EW6 places.
March 9, 2025 at 20:34 #1722321Guard Your Dreams 75/1 each way, 1st 6, is my each way play.
Some trends for previous runnings:
Winners aged between 7 and 9.
Winners usually at the top of the betting, in the first 4 or 5 of the betting.
Winners have had at least one start at Cheltenham.
Ten of the last 12 winners have made at least three starts that season, while nine of the 12 winners have recorded at least one win.I will take a detailed look tomorrow at “Win” contenders before i place a Win only bet.
At the mo the two standing out, for me, are Broadway Boy and Whistle Stop Tour. - AuthorPosts
