Currently sitting in a red zone , it’s bad now and it doesn’t go red to 10am , Dad died last night , he’s the one to blame for my inept and mostly incorrect racing views and bets ( well that’s my excuse ) , not a good day but solace sitting in his chair , I’m going to miss our racing chats , mostly me calling Goldie a cheating bar steward , Dad laughing and saying he was just being shrewd and it not being a gambling yard…. , to be fair my best ever on course bet was a forecast at Ayr inc Goldies Yorkshire blue , got £196 on a £2 straight forecast , he was laughing on my shoulder calling be a lucky bugger …. he prob had a point

I’m sorry to hear the sad news HDLG, best wishes to you and your family.

All quiet on the southwestern front in terms of storms. Bit blowy overnight but nothing particularly out of the ordinary. Although apparently there was the odd tornado about yesterday.

I haven’t been in here for quite a few days HDLG, Sorry to hear about your Dad.

Storm Eowyn is scaring the s**t out of me, I heard a crashing noise about 1pm,
I know its my roof but I’m not stepping outside and nobody in their right mind
is coming to look at it. Heard a 2nd thud about an hour later and I can see from
my kitchen that a large branch has been blown off my tree. Probably nothing I
can do until Sunday, the west coast of Scotland seems to be bearing the brunt
of this one (In Scotland anyway). Only 100 yards from me the sea has demolished
the metal railings round the sidewalk.

I wonder what the next storm brings.

Our place took a bit of a battering yesterday, no power and likely not have any for a while, out round the sheep this morning all I can hear are chainsaws and generators disturbing the snowy sunny silence! We were blocked in by fallen trees in both directions but Tom and the neighbours have them cleared…Tom was well stocked up with petrol and chain oil and our ancient rusty front end loader with the bald tyres can fairly lift. On the plus side I’ve met more neighbours in 24 hours than I have in years!
