Had to check it wasn’t April Fools Day when I read this:-

realise the Channon yard is in decline but really? Kid is still learning the game and hasn’t impressed me to date
December 15, 2013 at 19:20 #461911It’s the lad I feel sorry for. Channon is not my favourite trainer and considering the ammunition he’s had, seems to be a bit of an underacheiver. Unless an animal is clearly gp1 standard, he seems to be a bit "let’s suck it and see" when it comes to placing his horses. Some will win if you run them often enough, but there are smaller yards who I’m sure would do better if they’d had the same animals. Or does anyone on here really rate Channon highly?
December 15, 2013 at 20:19 #461919I agree with the opening 2 posts, never rated him as a trainer, just fires lots of arrows and hopes for the best.
I remember him wanting to up Youmzain to 2 miles plus and he was miffed when Jaber wouldn’t let him.
Thankfully for himself the owner stuck to his guns and he went to win G1’s at 12fs as well as being placed in Arc’s etc.December 15, 2013 at 20:27 #461920Hardly the most daunting of moves taking over from Harley. I think it is Botti’s owners who should be doing the worrying.
December 15, 2013 at 22:31 #461940I have to agree with previous comments a very strange choice for an underwhelming stable.
December 16, 2013 at 16:18 #461975I must be honest when I saw it I thought it was Sam Twiston Davies going to ride his jumpers.
I wonder what his owners make of this ?

December 18, 2013 at 17:03 #462175What a baffling decision. Although WTD has been a solid claimer on the flat, there must be more than 25 more talented unattached jockeys on the circuit right now.
He’s still only young too! There’s a good chance he’ll struggle with his weight in the next few years.
December 18, 2013 at 18:15 #462180TYF – maybe those talented unattached jockeys wouldn’t take the Channon job for a gold clock. He’s fallen out with most "top"jocks he’s used. If Channon does have a top/GP1 horse in his yard this year, will Channon stick with his new lad? He seems to be a trainer who is only loyal when things go well.

Well that brother of his can’t even get a horse to jump off, so if he’s anything to go by then this ones probably another waste of space.
