I’ve not come across any yet, myself.
Even if my beast wins and they cut the price of the beast in half my cash out is still p!ss poor

Bet365 (until they restricted me) were by far the best.

Cash out at 90% of stake even if your horse had drifted more than 10%.

Like you say, your horse can halve in price and many won’t even offer cash out at a profit.

You have to wonder just how much a punter has to lose a year to get offered bespoke favourable cash-out terms.

“Added Minella Cocooner 16-1 for now. Trainer being lukewarm about Sir Gerhard atm.”

I’ve joined you Mike. I think the fact that Mullins was swithering about Sir G is not a good sign. He has stayed sound the past couple of seasons but is a year older than a novice chaser should be (why?) and didn’t run well on the last run of either his bumper or novice hurdle after not exactly punishing campaigns.

I also wonder if Mullins was waiting to see if Constitution Hill is an unbeatable wonderhorse before deciding how many bullets to spend on the CH in addition State Man.

Anyhow, he reckons Minella Cocooner is a sharp jumper and over the intermediate distance he shouldn’t have to be hooked back.

I think Minella Cocooner is more of a Brown Advisory type

He got beaten on reappearance last season by a 125 rated horse and all his best form is over longer trips on decent ground

I’d have him as a BANC horse too and think he will improve quite a lot next time out

He was being niggled some way out today likely due to the ground and not being near full fitness

A step up in trip and better ground will see a much better horse, thought he jumped very nicely and also a bit to his left which won’t have helped going right handed

I agree Minella Cocooner may well be better on better ground- most of the Flemensfirths like the muck but some, like Lostintranslation, don’t. His dam won on heavy but her best win was on good. That was over 3 miles, and being by Old Vic out of a Roselier mare that side of the pedigree certainly doesn’t lack stamina.

Still, it’s hard to win over 3 with Minella Cocooner’s free going style. Today’s race wasn’t particularly slowly run- they were 4 seconds faster than the race fit handicappers over the same trip.

It may turn out that Minella Cocooner was simply beaten by a half million pound horse who turns out to be quite good. Take CG out and Cocooner has comfortably got the better of JWM before the fall and beaten the Ballymore third- who goes on the ground having won his bumper on heavy beating Ginto- by 24 lengths.

Hoping Banbridge sets it up nicely for Mighty Potter in the Drinmore.

Mighty Potter the one to beat in this now for reasons stated on the Drinmore thread.

That did not go according to plan!

I suppose you can draw the proverbial line through Three Stripe Life’s effort to an extent – but he is not going to win very much if he throws in jumps like that.

Not sure that was that great a race

with TSL being pulled up with jockey losing his irons

Banbridge ran no kind of race

Mighty potter makes lots of mistakes

The proximity of GDM who is a plodder makes me dubious at best

Mullins surely has something miles quicker than the second

Rare for me to disagree with you FF, but it would be boring if we agreed all the time.

I thought it was a cracking race.

I’d expected Banbridge to lead, but for me he’s got no real excuses.

And the “plodder” to which you refer has an OR of 156 – he’s one of the better “plodders” in training!

I just became a Mighty Potter convert.

Always swinging off the bridle, cracking performance and could be 10lb to a stone even better if he ever bothered to learn how to actually jump!

    Opinions make the game, sir!

Cracked up seeing the late money come for Potter, those Irish trainers nearly always get it right with their late money lol so dodgy

He does have on OR of 156 Ian

Based on runs over 3m1f and 3m5f not 2m3 1/2f

He got beaten 30 lengths by Bob and 15 lengths by Galopin over the mid trip last season

Mighty potter put in 2 or 3 sketchy jumps and looked to have a pretty dodgy head carriage

Well done those on at nice prices but he’s not for me at this stage.

I think FF91 may be underestimating Mighty Potter as well. He’s still learning on the job and bagged a grade 1 in the process. :o)

I do not like making excuses for beaten horses but I believe Banbridge is a better horse on good ground. I have not given up on him yet! 🙂

Good point, CAS, could be a different story if it’s Good in March.
