Sadly fatally injured in the Goodwood Cup.
The more I know the less I understand.
July 29, 2025 at 15:32 #1737097Sad news. RIP.
July 29, 2025 at 15:35 #1737099I don’t think it’s any secret that I’ve been a big fan of this horse over the years. It was a real shame to see him still running while palpably in decline over the last couple of years – he didn’t owe connections anything.
A very sad – and completely unnecessary – loss.
July 29, 2025 at 15:35 #1737100Sad news.
Should’ve been retired end last season imho.July 29, 2025 at 15:36 #1737102Absolutely gutted & angry that Trushan lost his life today. When I saw his name on the racecard I thought no, please dont run him, he deserves to be retired RIP brave warrior you deserved so much better RIP Trushan 😥
July 29, 2025 at 15:36 #1737104No words. Condolences to his connections. RIP
July 29, 2025 at 15:40 #1737107Just sorry for the horse. Owed no one a single thing, but deserved a nice retirement a while ago.
Rest in peace TrueshanJuly 29, 2025 at 16:33 #1737111Just got home and was going to relax and watch the racing but saw a ‘Trueshan tragedy ‘ headline. Won’t be watching that now.
Gutted, had expected he’d be withdrawn as ground not soft enough.
A proper warrior who deserved a long and happy retirement.
RIP TrueshanJuly 29, 2025 at 17:23 #1737112I dunno. There was no firm in the description and he placed in a couple of G1s at the backend of last year including 2l 2nd to Kyrios so no disgrace. He came a very respectable 4th on reappearance- in a G1- this year beaten only by , and beating, race fit horses.
RIP Trueshan, what a warrior.
July 29, 2025 at 20:04 #1737125Porr Trueshan did not deserve that, after all he has given other the year
ripVF x
July 29, 2025 at 23:18 #1737154I just couldn’t carry on watching the race after that incident, knew his fate as soon as it happened.
Holly was visiby upset when she turned out for the next race and his poor lass going home without her beloved boy so sad.
He has been a wonderful servant to his connections over the years it was heartbreaking to witness. He should have had a wonderful retirement and now we’ve lost him.

RIP Trueshan.. beautiful brave boy 🌹
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...July 30, 2025 at 10:22 #1737166Ok he was a few years past his pinnacle but I didn’t see anything to suggest his form had become poor. Given the paucity of young talent in the division I’m not going to castigate connections for continuing his career. A hurdling career was considered just a couple of years ago.
July 30, 2025 at 12:08 #1737179He came second to Kyprios last year so given that he is no longer racing he still had a chance of placing in some good races ( I looked at the prize money for yesterdays race and even coming second or third paid money that many NH horses could only dream of). They were so careful with him throughout his career; I’ve lost count of how many times they pulled him out of races. Can’t imagine how his connections ( and Hollie) must be feeling today; I still can’t quite get my head around it, it was the first thing I thought of when I woke up this morning.
