Apologies if there is already a thread but I could not find one.

Someone has to be mad enough to have a bet in the Triumph now and that someone is me.

Salvator Mundi has been given a good word from the Willie Mullins team. He was second in a race in France behind Sir Gino, now with Nicky Henderson.

There was a similarly strong word about Lossiemouth last year, which proved to be spot on.

I have taken 14/1 against Salvator Mundi but with a saver on Sir Gino at 16/1.

Now watch both of them lose on their debuts!

I backed both at 14s and 16s a while back. Waiting to see if they are any good.

I’m on Salvador mundi at 14s and Bunting at 12s

Happy to see Salvador Mundi put up as one of Willie’s two horses to follow

Suggests he may be the one for them

Probably more of a Boodles type, but in a race that I rarely have a bet in on the day, I’ve went with an Antepost this far out

Impressed by Burdett Road there. I know there are loads of exciting French imports in the Mullins, Elliott and Henderson yards, but I doubt that any of them will possess the same turn of foot as today’s winner.

Took a little bite at 33’s before the Huntington run with Burdett Road.
I dont think the big stables will unleash their best until after the new year.

    Bold statement that :o)

You’ll struggle to see a horse hurdle as badly as he did today and win as far as he did, probably says as much about the quality of the opposition as it does about Burdett Road. He’ll need to hurdle a lot better by March

    Depends what the sectionals are
The runner up led and the winner was last early on. If they’ve gone quick it won’t be as good as it looked as the runner up would be going backwards. If they went steady then the winner would need to close the gap first and then put daylight between them. Would have to watch it again but looked impressive at first glance

If they went steady would that not suit Burdett Road with his flat pedigree? He’s by a Champion Sprinter lol. I haven’t seen the sectionals either just struck me how badly he hurdled more or less throughout. And he wears a hood and still travels like a tank. Couldn’t have him personally, might be the best of the British but the Irish had loads better than us last year.

Possibly, steady usually favours those in front and it looked soft enough and the hill etc would make it harder for him
I’m open minded but agree the Irish normally have the stronger hand

Doesn’t hurdle brilliantly, but that can be worked on, and hopefully improved; but he has the engine, which is the most important factor. You can’t make a slow horse suddenly a world beater. I doubt we’ll see a higher rated Flat horse going over hurdles this winter…..

Sir Gino has an engine for sure but his jumping was a bit nerve wracking! I did not like the big jump at the second last.

Maybe he will be slicker in a better race. It looked to me that De Boinville wanted them to go faster and give him a better lead.

Sir Gino looks a very good prospect

Still very green so you’d expect there is significant improvement to come

Backing in the triumph before March is like making a bet on Miss World 2046 …

Sir Gino reported to be going to Cheltenham end of the month and a potential clash with Burdett Road.
