Given the money on Betfair, I’d say Batonnier is a 1/4 shot to be pricewise.

February 28, 2012 at 09:00 #393967I’ll update all selections later on today, because I think that’s it. All 8 selections sorted. Unless he does the Triumph next Tuesday.

Galileos Choice, 1pt EW 14/1 Supreme BoylesportsAnd I think that’s it. I was under the impression that Segal was only doing 8 races, but there’s 9 above. IMO, he may do the Triumph next Tuesday, in which case we’ll select as normal with the deadline being the following Sunday evening. There are no more edits allowed after this weekend – Zarkava was only allowed to change his choice because neither his outgoing or incoming horses had run since he selected them, and their prices hadn’t changed either. Its pretty unlikely that this would be the case for any others, as most have run since.
Could I also ask everyone to quickly check their selections also. I know that some haven’t posted their Neptune choices yet, but if you could all have a look back through the thread if I’ve missed any of your previous ones.
As for who is sitting on the best Ante-Post Fictional Pricewise Book? Looking at what’s been posted above, the standout bet for me is Zarkava’s Invictus @ 50s in the RSA. Plenty of us have First Lieutenant @ 16s in the same race. RoosterBooster’s Binocular e/w @ 10s and Darren’s win bet on the same animal look tasty too. There are a few blowouts too, the most notable being Spirit Son in plenty of books, and Captain Chris is looking less than tasty.
I’ll be keeping tally as we go along throughout the 4 days, as I’m off work so I’ll be sat at home in my pants and vest watching all week. There will be no prize for the winner, apart from an online smugness and a great feeling of self satisfaction as you taste glorious victory and are able to prove your superiority over the common man.
Good luck.
February 28, 2012 at 12:37 #393986Marvellous stuff Blunkett. Thanks for going through all the time and effort to construct such a fun and addictive thread. I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say it’s been great fun and very much appreciated
Now the serious stuff begins……….

What a shame, HurdyGurdyMan’s already got that.
This is a JOKE, Hurdy. Nothing more. No offence is meant, just a joke.
February 28, 2012 at 14:09 #394008Neptune : Boston Bob, 2pts win, 4-1.
Disappointed as i have SLC in antepost e/way bets but i can’t see past BB if it goes for this.
Mullins talks about him in part 2 of the RP Stable Tour and he thinks he’s an absolute monster.
February 28, 2012 at 15:46 #394032That’s a fine piece of work Blunkett – thanks for putting in so much effort.
February 28, 2012 at 18:54 #394064Thank you Blunkett for thread it been very good so far my tip in triumph is
SHADOW CATCHER 20/1 Coral.

He said something similar about So Young last year before the festival.

He wasn’t wrong though – just another young horse who found Cheltenham a year too early.
BB is older and tougher.
February 28, 2012 at 23:29 #394110Two questions, sorry I’ve not had time to keep up with TRF recently
1. Which races am I missing, Neptune & Ryanair?
2. See copy from below

I think two of mine fit this criteria, Quito NR, Bobby Ewing (Dead)
Can these be changed?

Galileos Choice, 1pt EW 14/1 Supreme BoylesportsFebruary 28, 2012 at 23:48 #394111CS makes a fair point, and for the sake of fairness and Blunkett’s sanity, I think it’s only fair I go back to my original selection of Bob’s Worth, otherwise 1/3 of the selections will be getting changed due to injury.
February 29, 2012 at 02:27 #394122Are we sure Bobby Ewing’s not just having a shower or a swim ?
February 29, 2012 at 02:59 #394125Is Segal doing the entire festival??
Cotton Mill 1pt ew 25/1 Neptune

My original understanding was that Ante Post bets, once placed, stood.
Injury, Death, Change of plans, etc lost
Backstage Not Qualified is Money Back.I’d be happy to stick with that if the rule applies across the board.
Blunkett……your ruling, Sir?
