January 17, 2013 at 22:45 #426691Hi Blunkett, if you don’t mind i’ll have a bit of this.
If i am too late then just ignore this post
Gold Cup – Tough race, could make a case for possibly 7 of them, however i’ll plump with the ever improving First Lieutenant!
First Lieutenant – 1Pt EW @ 12/1 (Various)
Queen Mother – Favourite looks a shoe in, could well be for the next few years. Trying to find an EW bet is difficult in itself as its a lottery who’s even going to turn up. There arent many certainties in life but the favourite here aint far off it.
Sprinter Sacre – 2pt WIN @ 1/2 (Various)
As others have already said, many thanks for putting this on Blunkett, should be good fun and I look forward to the challenge!
January 20, 2013 at 11:06 #426958Is it Champion Hurdle next?
January 20, 2013 at 18:38 #426994Sure is.
Very open this year, Henderson mob handed. Anyone’s guess what the ground will be like. With that in mind, I’ll plump for back to back wins for Rock On Ruby. I’d be interested in Oscar Whisky if it came up a bog or Cotton Mill on a sounder surface but with ROR I’ve got someone pretty versatile ground wise and a horse with excellent Festival form and the ability to stay further, which is key.
2pts win, Rock On Ruby, 10s with Laddies.
OLAS – all are welcome mate, I’ll add you when I next update the table.
January 20, 2013 at 18:49 #426995I’ve backed both Darlan and Zarkandar ante-post but will be the first to admit that a fistful of the market protagonists could be in for this, looks a minefield. Instead I’ll opt to go for
Cinders And Ashes
e/w for a bit of value. Despite looking pretty poor so far this season I’m sure he’ll come on a ton for better ground in March(supposing we get it!)
Cinders And Ashes 1pt e/w@18/1 with Stan James
January 21, 2013 at 13:01 #427047Grandouet is the biggest danger for me but the one they all have to beat is;
Hurricane Fly 2 pts, 18/5 (Sporting Bet)
January 21, 2013 at 15:53 #427059Grandouet 2pt win 7/1 various.
Blackbeard to conquer the World
January 21, 2013 at 18:08 #427066I’ll go for Cinders and Ashes too, 2 pts win.
January 21, 2013 at 19:01 #427073Very competitive race for me. Several possibles.
Have watched last years renewal again and despite the two big boys having their own waiting battle out the back and getting caught out by the leaders, i think the winner deserved it. Quick time.
Anyone know if a horse has returned from a long lay off and won the CH ?
I like Grandouet but a year off and then one, maybe two runs depending on the weather – it’s not ideal
January 21, 2013 at 19:07 #427074I backed Grandouet a while back but now I feel he’s short enough.
Binocular and Rock On Ruby appear to represent decent-ish value but at over twice the odds I’ll plump for the former.
Binocular 2 pts win @ 20/1 (various)

January 21, 2013 at 19:18 #427075Cotton Mill’s gone blue across the boards. Not a huge surprise to me as I know he’s one that Mr. Segal is fond of, and I seem to recall him putting him up at the start of the season. Bit out there though if it does prove to be his tip, considering he’s without a run all season
January 21, 2013 at 20:03 #427076Yep – confirmed. Cotton Mill is his tip.
Not for me though I’m afraid.

January 21, 2013 at 20:11 #427077Am on Zarkandar at 14/1 and current price he is 7/1
ZARKANDAR 7/1
January 21, 2013 at 22:55 #427084I am a Grandouet fan so 2pts win at 7/1 general
