I’m allowing NRNB but bookmakers must also be doing this. At the moment that’s Bet 365 and Betfred, Pricewise’s Champion Chase selection tonight.

just for clarification, if you choose a NRNB option and your selection doesn’t run, can you have another selection (at prevailing prices, obviously) or does your original stake now merely count against your starting -40 points?

Hi Oscar, unfortunately while a non no runner bet will be awarded back after the race has ran, it can’t be altered but for a minor change like win to EW or visa versa and these changes are only allowed while the entries for that race are open. I’m allowing a two week period for entries to be made, except the opening events Gold Cup, Champion Chase and Champion Hurdle which closes on 23rd January. I’m allowing 2 selections per race regardless of Pricewise selections, so if you do a non runner no bet race and it gets scratched from the race, but you haven’t made a second choice then providing the entries for that race is still open I will let you make a second entry. But your stake will be diluted.
I will put a post up on the relevant Sunday sometime when the entries are closed. Any entries before that will count, provided you haven’t exceeded 2 selections any after will not.
A non runner no bet are currently below the others which are all in run or not, but then you are getting that extra protection. But like actual bookmakers they’ll only pay out after the event.

If you select a runner NRNB and it doesn’t run, and you don’t attempt to post another runner in the race, will your stake be credited against your initial -40 points?
Yes, a non runner will reduce your initial -40 points. Sorry for the confusion thought you were asking could you put a substitute in it’s place. All wins will include stake units back.

Just to clarify
You can do Non Runner No Bet, or Extra Places but only if at least one bookmaker is doing it.
You can use any bookmaker that appears on Oddchecker site, but not exchanges.
If you do a non runner no bet, it’s usually a lower price than those not doing NRNB so you have to use the best of those prices.
Should your selection be a non runner, those who haven’t taken NRNB will lose their stake, while those who have will get their stake unit back.
No substitute’s for any non runners, but you can while the entries are open put a second choice in trying to get something back, unless you’ve used your two.
You can make a minor change while entries for that race is open like EW to Win or visa versa but when the entries close all selections stand as they’ve been agreed.You've got to accentuate the positive.
