We’ve had a competition the last few years on TRF, going up against Pricewise with his Ante-Post Cheltenham picks, so if anybody is interested, I’ll run one this year.
He starts off with The Champion Hurdle this This Tuesday, followed by The World Hurdle on Wednesday, and The Gold Cup on Thursday.
If he follows the same format as usual, the other races will be………
Supreme
Arkle
Neptune Novices
RSA
Champion Chase
Ryanair
Triumphbut I’ll watch it as each week progresses.
The main aim is to beat him, but obviously wee bit of kudos for whoever comes out on top of the TRF tipsters.
Here’s a reminder of last years comp, won by Red Rum 77, and after going close for a few years, Pricewise was well beaten.
The Rules are as follows, please read, even if you have played before, as there are new rules this year!!!
– One selection per race, unless Pricewise makes additional selections, either win or each way.
– If Pricewise takes a price which is not yet advertised, then those who have also made that selection will automatically get that price if they’ve taken lower.
– Only Bookmakers which Pricewise uses will be accepted…….this is a new rule, and list of bookmakers will follow.
– Late entries will be permitted, but to qualify for every race, please check weekly for deadlines. For example this week, to qualify for all 3 races, entries must be in by Saturday at 12 Noon. Any entries received after this will still be allowed in, but you will be down 6 points for those 3 races, but will not be allowed to make a selection.
– Selections can be made for a race, only after the time and date stipulated on here. If you can’t make it on here for a race, let me know, either on here or by private message, and I will take the best price available once the race opens.
– Anyone not stipulating win or each way, will automatically be given their selection as win please please please double check this.
– Prices quoted at the time of posting (i.e no aftertiming), try to quote which Firms are offering the price on your selections, again AT THE TIME OF POSTING, or just state if generally available. Please, please, please do not make up a price, or use one which is long gone…….leading me to get bombarded by private messages complaining about people cheating.
– NRNB will not count for any selections. If Pricewise makes future selections for a race already covered, these won’t count for the competition.– That’s it. If anyone thinks of anything I’ve missed from last year, then fire away.
Entries for this weeks races will kick off at 1500 hours on Monday 9th January, and all entries for these 3 races must be in by 12 noon on Saturday 14th January.

January 8, 2017 at 13:09 #1280790Looking forward to this, after winning this last year can lightning strike in the same place twice.
On a serious note I’ll try and put up some prize money to tempt entries.

January 9, 2017 at 15:13 #1280999With the likely (or possible) defectors, Yanworth seems the most likely winner,

January 9, 2017 at 15:24 #1281000Bobby, you’re a glutton for punishment! Thanks again because I know this can quickly turn nightmarish with folks asking thisthatandtheother. I hope we all behave this year.

January 9, 2017 at 15:44 #1281008Looking at the choice of bookmakers in the Racing Post Website we’ve got
William Hill
Ladbrokes
Bet 365
Corals
Paddy Power
Bet Victor
Sporting Bet
Sky Bet
Boylesport
RacebetsI think these are the bookmakers he uses. Also your selection is 50/1 VTC with Bet 365, Bet Victor, Sporting Bet & Sky Bet. Big G the price you quoted is right, Joe 20/1 is top price with these bookies (Bet 365)
What’s happening to Each Way Bets. As some go fifth of odds and some quarter. I suggest we keep things simple by going quarter whatever type of race it is.
