If one of Pricewise’s horses is a non runner VTC
does he get to choose another.
i.e if he had chosen Dynaste and that horse then went for
the Ryanair what would happen
Can I leave my 2 points win on Holywell or do I have to split it now Pricewise has chosen 2 horses…sorry if this sounds thick
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 13, 2015 at 11:42 #501365Vtc as far as I am concerned this is your competition and if any tweak or disputes arise then your decision is final.
I think you need to include that into the rules.

January 13, 2015 at 11:46 #501366Folks,
given it a bit of thought, and although there’s £100 up for grabs, the main thing is it’s just for a bit of interest, and a bit of fun. There’s always the possibility that there might be the occasional requirement to "tweak" the rules.
Unless anyone has any objections, and please do let me know, I’d have no problem with people changing an ew pick to 2 x 1pt win bets…….prices taken on original selections would remain.
I’d imagine most of you will stick to original selections, but the option is there.
No objection here VTC, if Pricewise is picking two it’s only but fair to let players have the same option, as the aim is to beat Pricewise and we can’t let him have an advantage.
Maybe Gingertipster will want the rules tweaked further to allow
six
selections per race

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 13, 2015 at 12:03 #501369Cheers VTC – i’m sticking with my Dynaste each way bet. I reckon the Pipe’s will look at the Gold Cup field in a months time and think they have little to be afraid of – and they’ve already won a Ryanair. Would probably be their last chance at a Gold Cup with the best chaser they’ve had in a few years
January 13, 2015 at 12:29 #501372Gold Cup –
Holywell 1pt win @ 16/1 (Ladbrokes)
Road to Riches 1pt win @ 8/1 (general)January 13, 2015 at 12:59 #501381I notice Ladbrokes have pushed Holywell out to 16/1, which seems a bit odd, not to mention annoying for folk who took 14/1, given Jonjo’s recent revival in form.
Wondering why they would have done that?
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 13, 2015 at 13:23 #501386Ladbrokes were shortest price on Holywell for a spell, quoting him at 8/1. Maybe they’re balancing the book?
January 13, 2015 at 15:40 #501398VTC, if you are offering the chance to change an e/w selection can I take you up on that and change my selection to:
1 pt win Holywell (at the original 14/1)
1 pt win Road to Riches at 8/1 (various)January 13, 2015 at 22:48 #501440If one of Pricewise’s horses is a non runner VTC

JacHe probably will make another choice if that happens Jac, but for the purpose of this competition, I’d ignore it (if only for whats left of my sanity
)Haha, doesn’t sound thick at all, you can stick with your original bet no problem…….just wanted people to be backing the same points as Pricewise. Obviously people who went ew had used their 2 points, but there’s an opportunity there for people who had went 2pts win with their pick.
I,m staying put Vtc as I don’t want you having sleepless nights and nightmares about Pricewise horses running havoc all over the TRF site not knowing which race they have been entered in and running in and out of Oddschecker website with flashing odds of 14/1, then 8/1 then 16/1 arghhhhh…
So please keep your sanity, keep calm and carry on
you’re doing a great job..
PS..let me know if you need a Secretary
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 14, 2015 at 08:15 #501449To clarify my selections
1 pt win Al Ferof @ 40- 1
1 pt win Silviniaco Conti @ 3-1

I was going to send you a pm anyway……I’ve not missed your picks for other races, I’ll hold fire with them, until the week of those races, and then include them in the list on page 1. If anyone else goes for your picks, I might have to tweak prices for everyone to keep it fair, but I’ll see how it goes
Venture I am a bit puzzled here. Am I supposed to wait until Pricewise puts his tips up before nominating mine?
I am not sure what you mean by tweaking the prices? I was picking mine early in case the odds contract and expected that if my horse doesn’t run in the race I have nominated, then I have a loser for that race regardless if it runs somewhere else.
Sorry to seem a bit thick here.
PS, when can we substitute ten to follow picks? I’ve got a deceased horse and one out for the season, so the bench has to come into play asap LOL (I’ll take David Fairclough from Liverpool please)
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 14, 2015 at 21:09 #501521Hi VTC, sorry i’m a bit late joining in. If you are still taking latecomers my selections are:
Champion Hurdle – The New One 2pts win 11/4 (Stan James)
Gold Cup – Many Clouds 1pt e/w 16/1 various bookies.
If i’m not too late to take part I promise to keep up

I can remember the first time I had a proper game at primary school. I was 2 years younger than the oldest class but they wanted to give some of the young ones a chance so put me and a couple others as subs. They put me on in the second half and I stood there in the middle of the pitch for about 5 seconds then the ball came along and before I could kick it a big lad from the other school ran straight through me knocking me clean to the deck. The ref blew his whistle for a free kick and I got up a little gingerly but ok but the next thing I know I was being substituted lasting in total about 15 seconds on the pitch.
Super sub eh……

January 15, 2015 at 13:07 #501559I like Road To Riches and will probably have a small EW nibble at Theatre Guide but I better keep the faith and have 1pt EW Smad Place at 25/1 generally in the hope that Cheltenham and better ground will see him in a better light. I believe he goes for the Argento a week on Saturday so I might know my destiny 2 months early.
January 15, 2015 at 20:58 #501603Haha Steve, doesn’t sound thick at all.
The simple answer is that we’ve always waited until the Sunday (more or less) before tackling the race that Pricewise is doing next……….he does on occasions cover one of the Cheltenham races on a Thursday as well. I’ll give plenty notice for this.
Thanks for explaining that Venture. I haven’t taken part before and just assumed that the idea was to get as big odds as possible and jumped in really early. Of course that would disadvantage Pricewise who tips his selection afterwards.
My speculative fun bet on Hurricane Fly for the World Hurdle is goosed as he wasn’t declared but that’s the joy of ante-post betting.
I’ll just eat a loser for that race for this competition, as it serves me right for jumping the gun
Will try to keep to the plan for the other races. Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
January 17, 2015 at 15:51 #501829Thanks Vtc..
really like the 33’s about Mr. Mole but not got the courage to go for him
so have to go for unbeaten..Sire de Grugy @ 5/1 BetVictor 2 points win
Could look generous on the day and I want to see the Preston Family & Friends go mad again and wrap that scarf around Camilla again or even The Queen if Nathan’s taking pics
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...January 17, 2015 at 15:55 #501833As I went back to oddschecker just a minute back
Sire de Grugy had been backed with BV from the 5/1 offered
down to 9/2.
I’m happy to take the drop Vtc but he was 5/1 when I picked him
it must have been snapped up as I typed my post.
Thought they were being a bit generous. Jac
