May 18, 2014 at 14:00 #479470What Camera do you use Nathan?
I’m thinking of getting a better one this year from my winnings
Mine is very hit and miss and although I can’t afford one like TAPK I’d really like to upgrade

Battery exhausted comes up a fair bit but I do tend to over use it. very good shot and zoom for the price. Good for around the paddock you need to use the sports bit for taking shots when running as it cuts out the blur.
edit – actually the one in the link is 30x zoom whereas mine is 26x zoom so even better.

May 18, 2014 at 14:59 #479477That’s just what I was looking for Nathan and very reasonable, I’m putting that on my Christmas List or I may just go ahead and trade in my old one and buy it ready for the July Meeting.
Thanks for the link I watched the video and it looks really simple to use and adjust unlike some that are so complicated.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 18, 2014 at 15:20 #479479If there’s one thing I have learned in life its that experience counts for everything,If you are going to talk the talk Ffs back it up.I wasn’t really born with the gift of being an absolute master at spotting horses talents but I was born with a strange gift of assessing human characters.I’ve said it before but I can suss someone out in 5 minutes of their company.I have never felt better than anyone in this life and certainly dont feel worse than those granted celebrity status and the riches that come with it,we are all here for a very short time in the scale of things and I believe in living life to the full.Yesterday I enjoyed the company of both Ginge and Nath,2 guys off here that are both as genuine as you could meet, both stare in the face of adversity but make the most of every day they are blessed with and I associate with that.I never knew that when Nath organised this meet up that the mighty Arsenal would make it too the FA Cup final on the same day,I had a choice to make, either support the team I was born closest too and had backed Ante-Post to win this prestigious trophy or support my pal on here. Its called making an effort,TAPK is a great believer in the saying you only get out of this life what you put in it,I have put a lot into this forum and apart from earning legendary status from my Ante-Post coups I have been fortunate enough to meet like-minded others and thats thanks to this place.Cheers to Cormack for allowing me these pleasures.
I know its common knowledge on here that people think Ginge and I hate each other,I know that when I call him a Lying Cheating Charlatan its a case of whats said on here stays on here, just like when I tell the outspoken Ginger T*at to shut the **** up about his stupid bloody 100% books bollox,he knows there’s always a hint of humour in there and Ginge is big enough to see it……….Right Ginge me old pal?

About time we did David, can you imagine a TRF Xmas meet up in the Dryborough Abbey,30 of us round the table introducing ourselves with a glass of ‘Cockburns’.You at one end of the table and your King at the other,Nobody knows who anyone is except we all have a good idea who Ginge is.
Equitrack
is the first to welcome us and our glasses hit the floor.
Zarkava
pipes up next and he’s sat opposite me!
Then itsPinza
and he’s sat next to you!

Fist
introduces himself in his best Thai accent and tells us he’s won 10 million baht,
Imperial Call
talks a lot of sense but dissapears halfway through the night.

Carvhills Hill
gives us a lecture on Greyhounds and how close he’s come to winning the scoop 6,he also says ‘First Lieutenant’ has a Gold cup in him!

Maxillon5
says he’s been on the beach at Bamburgh and saw a few donkeys that were at Southwell in the week.By this time there’s a bit of an atmosphere,
Gamble
use his articulate skills to tell us he’ll be back for the following years Poster of the year award and thats the last we hear of him.
Paul Ostermeyer
stops off on his tour of the countrys brothels, well he’s done the Racecourses.
Graysons column
thinks there’s an Indie band in town and comes dressed in psychedelic fur.Just to show how far the tentacles of TRF reach
Jollyp
has flown 24hrs to get here.Yes with a plethora of recent contributors around the table too it really is a who’s who of this fantastic forum. Then TAPK stands up and a silence like the one at the Hull City end yesterday when Arsenal stuck their 3rd goal in envelopes the dining room…………..
May 18, 2014 at 19:53 #479503Then its Pinza and he’s sat next to you!

May 18, 2014 at 20:19 #479505Some good pictures there and nice threads on show. TAPK in particular looks sharp as a knife in the one where he’s wearing shades. We won’t mention Nathan’s trainers
Mind you, I’m just a boots, jeans and wax jacket man, but that suits me for the Winter game.May 18, 2014 at 20:38 #479508I’ve done a shed load of overtime Mr .P and would not have survived the day if I wore my smart shoes. Besides once the photo’s of TAPK were taken he was back in his van and changed into shorts and ripped t-shirt.

May 18, 2014 at 21:07 #479512Gingers master system. dots, stars, slashes, trainer form, going, percentages, odds to beat even the horses bowel patterns.

Gord, I notice Bronze Angel was pricewise hence the bloody price.
Couldn’t you blow the picture up Nathan?
Can’t see the workings out. Trainer in form ratings (stars, slashes and dashes), FR’s (front runners), RP (races prominently), Mid (races mid-div), HU (held up) or DO (dropped out). F-G (firm to good), M-D (Good-firm to good-soft), S-V (best soft or heavy). TOS (probably needs a greater test of stamina), stam (stamina doubt). Question marks for is it capable of running to its Timeform rating, or "+" for could well improve (if not already with a "p".) Numbers from best chance to worst, percentage chance (all adding up to 100%), percentage converted to odds and another price as a way of checking those odds (my odds plus what would be a bookies mark up). etc etc. Everything but "bowel patterns".4 winners from 4 races, it pays to be thorough.

Great to see both yourself and Gord. You’re lucky they let you in to the Premier enclosure in Jeans.

Make it a yearly get together.
Let me know if you’re able to make Goodwood at all. The elusive Softie will also be present!

If you say so Gord.

It may be "bollox", but it’s profitable bollox.

DRYBURGH Mr King! I’m not local to the Borders but would recommend the area to anyone. Fantastic countryside, Smailholm Tower, The Glen Hotel Selkirk, The Eildon Hills, Abbotsford, and Kelso Racecourse ain’t too bad either.
You Southerners are lucky to have Newbury. I’ve had many a good day there in my youth.
It’s been a good weekend – Up the Gooners!

They had no choice, Gord told them he was a black belt.
Anyway it says jeans are allowed on the back of the ticket to be fair I bought some nice trousers and even a lovely moleskin pair but they were purchased when I had my pd catheter fitted and I was walking around with a litre of fluid in me and with that now gone the moleskins would be falling down every 10 paces so thought it best to wear something that fitted.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
May 18, 2014 at 21:51 #479521Oasis my old MTOY fellow supporter and Dandy associate,I would travel to wherever for a good cause and what this forum does like I suppose any other dedicated to a particular field is draw like minded folk together so when we doe meet one another we have a topic of conversation automatically there to break down barriers and thats why we all get on in reality.I am completely different in the flesh to the slightly conceited ‘character’ I have created on here.
