May 18, 2014 at 09:27 #479434Great pics guys. Good to see you had a great time.
May 18, 2014 at 09:45 #479439Hmm , Newbury , 160 miles west ….place where 10 bus loads of welsh blokes unload , head to the bar , by 11.30 am bread of heaven fills the air …and continues to for the entire day ….
No Thanks
50 quid petrol
25 quid in
10 quid for bits and bobs
plus a hellish drive home ..m4 . m 25 . m 1 ……
The Racing is good ,,,but not that good ….compared to a rare nice day in my garden ……when the weather is absolutely pleasant
Must admit the prospect of driving to the Hennesy is more appealing

But presumably the track would be a wee bit tighter than Chester, low safety limit and racing Shetlands?
Are you watering to maintain good racing ground?

May 18, 2014 at 12:53 #479454Firstly I must say that on here gingertipster comes across as a know it all, must have the last word on everything and I can tell you all that he actually does know everything, well he did yesterday.
When I spotted him across the paddock he was rosy red cheeked with ginger hair but when he took one look at TAPK he went pale as a ghost and strawberry blonde. I thought TAPK went light on him and only gave him 5 medium to hard kidney punches.
Nice to meet up with Gord again and a pleasure to meet ginge, I wanted to take him home the sweetie……
At the end of the day I bumped into the boss aswell, he has very colourful language.

May 18, 2014 at 12:59 #479456The legends, Gordon’s camera is some heavy piece of kit. Neither of us could pick our noises yesterday but both finished the day smelling of roses. Gord with his Ante post FA Cup winner bet on the gunners and I found Aertex in the last but the day belonged to ginge who went through the card with every winner(he did back 49 in all though)

May 18, 2014 at 13:05 #479458Great Pictures Nathan Did you manage to get the autograph
of Richard Hughes that you were after?
Looking at those pictures with you snuggling up to the Hannons I bet you’ll be invited round for tea and cake with the family next.Did Ginge’s Master System remember that I mentioned he should look out for CONNECTICUT next time out, he was an eyecatching 3rd to Munjaz at the Craven Meeting
Well done with your winners Olympic Glory was different class.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 18, 2014 at 13:13 #479459I only got the one winner Trip but even if I missed out was great just to see TAPK again and ginger and bump in Richard Snr and Jnr. I was completely wrong regard OG and the ground he proved very versatile although Toronado would have won on the bridle. Having backed Hannon for the title things are looking good at present.
Didn’t get near Richard Hughes. Here’s Connecticut winning the first not a bad pic seeing how fast they go and I only get the one shot compared to Gordon who gets 100 pics a second.

May 18, 2014 at 13:19 #479460Top Notch Tonto, the ground went against him and he didn’t look to be gleaming in coat compared to his rivals.

May 18, 2014 at 13:32 #479464Hey thanks for that Nathan I only saw it on the big screen at Newmarket and they had no sound for the race so when I saw a flash of yellow coming through to take it up I knew my day was off to a good start.
For me 2 x winners at Newmarket Pinzolo and Miner’s Lamp in the last who lumped top weight down the Rowley Mile, but he’s built to carry it and bravely held off Alex my Boy in the run up the hill.Don’t know how you managed to fit so much into one day, all those great pictures and top class horses to see.
Isn’t Top Notch Tonto a stunning looking horse, I love those pictures, he made a brave try from the front but it wasn’t his favoured ground but you never know with him so it was worth the try in my opinion.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...May 18, 2014 at 13:39 #479466I was shattered by the end of the day Trip running back and forth and I’m only a spring chicken who caught the train so dear Gord must be one fit solider to drive there and back and get about considering he’s 60 this year.
Top Notch is a bit of a character looking at everyone around the pre parade ring. He ran a cracker considering the ground and the first three were the back three for most of the race which would suggest they went a fair clip and TNT kept on whereas Montiridge completely bombed out.
