Here is a completely random guess!!
Was it Arctic Prince who won the Derby in 1951 and then won it again in the film Derby Day in 1952 ?Apologies beforehand if it is a stupid answer
September 18, 2015 at 13:23 #1207293The only other stupid answer I can think of, if indeed raymo’s was stupid, is Tyrant, who won the race in 1802. Ditto then won the race in 1803. So I suppose you could take that to mean consecutive victories

That was the one I was looking at, so well done Homer.
Sorry for posting a a question out of turn but I was leafing through old winners of the Derby and noticed Ditto was a winner, making it look like Tyrant might have won twice to the untrained eye.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 21, 2015 at 14:35 #1207792Being on the same wavelength as SC, I’m not sure if that’s a good thing
The 2015 Listowel Festival has just finished and I missed going to this for the first time since my debut in 2002. In that first year two horses who won at that Festival that went on to big things the next year.
Forward wind 10 years and I refused to watch a two horse bumper with the fav at 1/10 so left early, not knowing this horse would become a bit of a superstar in recent years.
Can you name the THREE horses I am talking about?
September 29, 2015 at 20:46 #1209072Annie Power is one of them Homer.
Monty’s Pass another.
And maybe John Oxx’s Alamshar could be the third.I did cheat though and went through all the Listowel results for 2002!!
October 1, 2015 at 14:14 #1209469If I am right then here is an old quiz question for you…..
Name three England International footballers with three O’s in their name ?????
November 13, 2015 at 08:29 #1221450Only one I can think of is Peter Osgood. He was way before my time, I just know about him from a Chelsea supporting family member.
Wayne Roooney perhaps?November 13, 2015 at 14:40 #1221509Tony Woodcock?
November 13, 2015 at 23:36 #1221597The ugly Coventry keeper had a few O’s in his name.?
Blackbeard to conquer the World
November 14, 2015 at 18:25 #1221697The third one is Ian Storey-Moore.
If you took question literally you can also chuck in Tony Dorigo, but I presume surname was intended.
November 14, 2015 at 21:14 #1221717Q: 2013 King George VI & QE stakes winner Novellist was a beast and one of the best around that year, but in late 2012 he ran a bit flat in two consecutive group 1 events.
It turned out there was a rather peculiar problem that needed correcting before he could race again. What was that problem?
November 16, 2015 at 02:45 #1221941is it something to do with a blockage?
November 16, 2015 at 21:44 #1221997Your on the right line. He came out of those races with some serious mucus build up but there was a specific reason for it.
November 17, 2015 at 02:58 #1222005I’m probably miles out on this – was thinking writer’s block.
November 17, 2015 at 20:36 #1222083Hay fever?
November 17, 2015 at 21:40 #1222105Close enough. He was allergic to certain types of grass (commonly used at racecourses)
I don’t know what racecourses would have affected him had he not had an operation but that’s bye the bye as it was a straightforward enough procedure anyway.
November 18, 2015 at 19:35 #1222190Thats amazing!! A horse allergic to grass!!
Isn’t Paul Hanagan allergic to horse sweat? and that is why he wears gloves? -
