I’m sad enough to know that it was Dogface, and Freddie was Halfwit.

It looks like a young Martin Pipe, so I’ll go for Baron Blakeney, and Paul Leach.

That’s right VTC. The owner was Bob Wheatley. Before going to Pipe (who I think looks a little like the late Alex Higgins in this photo) Baron Blakeney had won a flat race with Lester Piggott in the saddle.

Cheers Mr P. That took me back.

I would have to google that, VTC, and that’s not right. But I’m sure someone will know it.

No worries Mr P, i might change it to a racing one tomorrow anyway. In hindsight, the books were maybe a bit more obscure than I thought, don’t want to be pain in the ass. Were very popular when i was younger, there were always loads of em about!

    Clue is WW2.

Nah, stuff that Mr P, i’ll end the boredom once and for all, and set a new question. If anyone else is remotely interested, other than yourself, they can PM me.

    Q. Which horse won the Cheltenham Gold Cup, the season after falling at the Water Jump, in the Scottish Grand National?

If not, was it farther back when the Scottish National was at Bogside?
