Thats ok Colin; I’m in bah humbug mode as well! I make Scrooge look like Mary Poppins at this time of year…..
A Lady after my own heart – the trouble is Scrooge was "got at" and the story had an unhappy ending.
I think they should have left him well alone.

I work in a jobcentre and told a customer who said I was full of the Spirit of Christmas that me favourit christmas character was Scrooge. He had a sense of humour failure. Just because I told him to turn his mobile phone – oops sorry, life support system (I could go on about the infernal things all night if you want).
December 17, 2009 at 23:32 #264311I used to work at Eccles Labour Exchange in the 1970’s; they made me redundant..it was so embarrassing..one week I was on one side of the counter and the next I was on the other. It was really funny one day when one of my colleagues was interviewing someone. He went off to do something and came back to find that she’d been able to glance at what he’d written..he’d put ‘says she’s 35 but looks a lot older’. I used to love handing out money to people [this was pre giros or direct debits].Fond memories of Eccles. And, I agree; I have a loathing of mobile phones..emergencies only imo.
