To be honest most of the obvious nominations have already been made, so apart from all of the above here are my choices:-

    Poster

moehat – everyone’s favourite racing mad slightly dotty auntie!

    Flat Jockey

Paul Hanagan – finally getting his feet under the top table thanks to the likes of Tagroohda.

    Jump Jockey

Tom Scudamore – tremendous Cheltenham festival.

    Villian

Philip "how did those steriods get there?" Fenton

    Hero

Balthazar King – steadily building a legend.

    Flat Horse

Treve – a one hit wonder this year, but what a hit it was.

    Jump Horse

Jezki – a genuine champion on his day.

    Flat Trainer

Marco Botti – the new globetrotter

    Jumps Trainer

Paul Nicholls – coming back off the ropes with a stellar November

    Owner

Al Shaqab Racing – it’s not just Coolmore v Godolphin anymore…

    One to Watch 2015

Nick Rust – might be controversial this. The new BHA head an ex-bookie bod? Stroke of genius or madness?!!

    Journalist

To be honest I don’t read much press so I’ll pass on this one. :?: :?:

    Broadcaster

Clare Balding – purely because I’m interested to see if anyone votes for her bearing in mind the hoo-haa about her virtual withdrawal from C4 Racing.

    Commentator

John Hunt – consistent and enthusiastic. (Will probably be between Hoiles & Holt tho…)

    Racecourse

Longchamp – went Arc Trials day, one of the nicest days racing I’ve experienced.

    Riding Performance

Sam Waley-Cohen – Oscar Time, Becher Chase, Aintree – yes recent but an intelligent ride from the Amateur.

I think the lad Topham deserves a nomination in the commentator category.

Nick Luck is a consummate professional in an arena a little wanting in that respect so gets my Broadcaster nod.

I’ll add some more but, meantime, are you sure about that first fellow in the Broadcaster list Nathan?

Incidentally, I didn’t know that Leonardo Di Caprio was the Cowboy in Village People.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

The one on the right in the black is Australian 80’s cricket player David Boon.

Nathan, I nominated Ryan Moore but not for the Grey Gatsby ride. Are jockeys only allowed 1 ride each?

It would be a tragedy of injustice for Ryan Moore to only be nominated for an award for a ride where he was simply going as fast as the horse could manage and then not get a shout for a truly brilliant piece of tactics in the Heron Stakes at Sandown.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Now now Steve, to each his own opinion and of equal worth .

That’s the point I’m making. I’ve nominated a race and it’s not included.

Of course everyone has a right to an opinion but I suspect plenty of people saw the Grey Gatsby ride but probably fewer people saw the, in my opinion, far superior ride on Master Craftsman.

The ATR race report for The Grey Gatsby at The Curragh reads:-

"In rear, pushed along approaching straight, switched right 2f out and progress to go 2nd over 1f out, kept on under pressure, led close home"

The race report on the same site for Master Carpenter at Sandown reads:-

"Dwelt in touch in rear, raced wide until switched to inside 6f out, headway to lead over 4f out, switched to stand side 3f out, ridden over 1f out, ran on strongly (great ride)"

The latter race was a clear case of the jockey’s tactics making all the difference and, in my opinion of course, anyone who voted for the Curragh ride, without seeing the Sandown one, is doing themselves a great disfavour.

Did you see the Master Carpenter ride Chief? I’d love to know your opinion if you did. Maybe I’m overrating it but I know The Ante Post King was impressed that night as well as myself.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

No I didn’t see it Steve. Will keep my eyes out on ATR when their ride of the year highlights start.

    I nominated

    Emerging Talent

for the One To Watch in 2015, Nathan. :)

By the way, can I add Simon Clare for the villain category? He’s not a villain in my eyes, but the recent thread and twitter antics with DC make me think he’d get a few votes. I promise to get a video reaction from the man himself if he wins too!
