Although Constitution Hill seems very likely to be voted Jumps horse of the year, Ballyboker Bridge merits a nomination at least for his amazing victory at 15 years of age at Punchestown in April.

Poster of the year There are two I’d like to mention, one has already been nominated. she has been the glue that has held the forum together. Her love of the flat and knowledge of juveniles shines through. Her interest shown in other threads and her humanity always evident. Brilliant photos too. Well done Triptych. I nominate BIG G. passionate debater, golfing God, all round sports fan and racing passion which shines through.
Kindness shown to fellow forumites an example to all. Finally a big mention to Darren83 surely the most asture sports brain on the forum, tennis and golf and football and I cannot believe he is not a paid golf and tennis tipster for the racing post he’d earn a packet. ( No wait. he’d make punters rich and we can’t have that from a Bookies publication)

Flat horse of the year ALPHINISTA
Jumps horse of the year NOBLE YEATS
from humble bumper winner to National winner.
    Flat jockey of the year
    LUKE MORRIS
from journeyman jockey taking ten rides a day at two meetings to German/Yorkshire group winning jockey to Arc pinnacle. Back on the all weather a day or so later.
    Jumps jockey of the year
BRIAN HUGHES not because he is the best, but because he excels in his own specialist field and leaves the grade one races and festivals to others.
    Flat trainer of the year
Has to be SIR MARK PRESCOTT
Realised his horses were better than just for exploiting their handicap marks and aimed for the stars. Didn’t need to book another top jockey and trusted in Luke Morris.
    Jumps trainer of the year

    Hero of the year
DAVID EVANS trainer who races at lots of tracks all year round and has gone from wolves to Ascot with Rohaan twice again this year. And without a doubt one person in racing who understands the physics behind handicapping, and a trainer I’ll send a horse to when I land my tricast.
    Riding Performance of the year
RYAN MOORE’S rides in the last month, take your pick. But VELA AZUL in the Japan cup is the standout.
    Broadcaster of the year
    < strong> IRISH RACING.COM
Not a broadcaster of races per se but the website facilitates YouTube discussions around racing and provides excellent racecards.

    One to watch 2023
    FAYE MACMANONMAN
Sole purveyor of hands and heels style of racing.

    Racecourse of the year
    CARTMEL
    Journalist of the year
    None.
    Villain of the year
IHRB (they need to clean up the sport and protect the horse, then the BHA Need to follow suit over here.)
    Owner of the year
All small owners and ownership groups who do it for the love of the sport.
    Commentator of the year

    Thread of the year
    MEYDAN 2023 excelled again.
