You say after 20 years……… Surely after 20 years you’d have learned to open your eyes a bit.

Most of Mr Nicholls horses run in big field sprint handicaps. The reason he enters a few is that he himself thinks they’ve all got a chance if the draw, ground or whatever idiosyncrasy is taking the prevalance on the day.

Niave is the only word I can think of – but after 20 years… I’m just not sure…

You spouted some drivel there Sailing Shoes, oh Mister Nicholls knows alright, he’s a shrewd old cookie is our Dandy.
He runs numerous horses in races to shed pounds off their back, most of his horses are well down the field. Then when the time is right, they will strike, but only good old Dandy knows when.

Naive springs to mind alright, but you should use it to describe yourself Sailing Shoe’s.

You keep avoiding his horses then if you can’t read the form.

Madman, is there actually any point in posting an opinion if it differs to yours? Not once have you taken the "we will agree to disagree" approach and treated differing opinions with any form of respect whatsoever.

If trainers’ horses were as consistent with their runs as you are with your belligerence this game would be ever so easy.

The usual 100% I’m right, the rest of you are idiots garbage.

I had a horse that ran against a Nicholls winner called Gift Horse in a minor handicap at Doncaster. We all know what Gift Horse has done since. So if Nicholls knows everything, how come it started 16/1 that day and my ageing and fully exposed serial loser was almost favourite.

He certainly knows a lot more than me or you. On occasions a horse will pop up totally unexpected, to the pleasant surprise of connections.
There is a couple of meetings where Dandy likes to target horses, Goodwood & Ayr Gold Cup meeting, but even then there is too many ifs and buts when he has so many well handicapped horses in the one race. I generally stay clear of him, believe me if you were to back his horses blind you would be sure to see a fairly healthy loss at end of the season, unless your one of those geniuses who can read his mind and only back his winners.
Little Zuhair did make me a few quid, but rare indeed where Nichols is concerned.
I suppose there is no point in replying to this post appracing, as I am always 100% right, well you say so anyway.

So Sailing shoes thought I was naive, I thought his post was naive, we are agreeing to disagree are we not.

Sir M Prescott is the biggest puzzle to me.
Am I missing something or has he got the reputation that he has by running up quick sequences over 20 or so days with horses in £2K-£3K handicaps, at minor tracks, most winning at unbackable prices. At the end of a horse’s 4 wins on the trot it’s won maybe £12K, more often that not a sum which is only 10%-20% of it’s purchase price.
I know some of his fans will mention the likes of Albanova, Confidential Lady…..
Good producer of junvenile hurdlers all the same.
OVER RATED.

Trust me Madman I’m not being naive. Your posts lack credibility.

Trainers are often the worse tipsters. I agree they know when their horse is fit, I agree they ‘sometimes’ know when a horse is facing his ideal conditions.
It is our ‘job’ as punters to know when a horse is reaching peak fitness – when it is facing it’s ideal conditions. If you can’t do that with Dandy horses than fair enough, to be fair though, he runs them all so often it is pretty easy IMO to get a handle on them.
I’ve learnt to give races involving a Tony Martin or Barney Curley runner a wide berth.

    :o

He’s got four entered at Southwell on Sunday (his first trip back there since Quixall’s 100th run) and would have run Pharnoon at Sedgy tonight had it not been balloted out. I trust the Yeats millions will be aimed elsewhere?

Yes we all have trainers we like and dont like however how many of you, if you were trainers would come out and shout from the rooftops that your horse was definately going to win. I don’t think your owner would be too impressed.

Just remember trainers are like punters, they are there to make money for themselves and their owners.
Hihihihih! As I understand it, Monaughty Man – along with Clavering, Castle Stephen and maybe a handful of others – was found a new home in the locality of High Crossett around 2002-3, as part of a clear-out of older geldings during Ted’s period without a permit. He’s probably still doing his thing in a field somewhere close by, though not at any great speed, of course.

[citation needed – maybe regular poster quixallcrossett could confirm?]
