Does anyone have any thoughts or heard whispers about this year’s race, I see that Aidan O’Brien has nominated Cape Blanco and Coordinated Cut looked good last week at Newmarket.

    Sir Michael has 3 entered,

    Verdant

who runs at Sandown tomorrow and being a Singspiel colt, could be anything.

    London Stripe

is a very smart looking Chestnut who won his Yarmouth maiden convincingly and of course he has the Derby winner

    Workforce

entered also, although i notice he misses both Sandown races he was entered for tomorrow!

Cape Blanco looks to Derrinstown Bound
    Rocket Man Chester
    Midas Touch Chester
Jan Vermeer looks a possible but he is going French way i think
    Captain James Cook Lingfield

Dynasty or Mikhail Glinka i think will pitch up in the Dante

Cape Blanco looks to be Dante Bound.

I take as Zarkava always says.

The Best Derby Horse goes to the Derrinstown.

Even when everyone said about Fame and Glory he still ran 2nd.

Cape Blanco at 4s seems huge, but then again, the possible bet would be to back him for the derby, and lay if he wins the dante?

I have backed Chabal and Cape Blanco at 16s and 30s for the derby.

Coordinated Cut is a place lay for me. The form of his maiden last year was dire, he was dire in the Racing Post Trophy and the form of his Conditions win has been utterly abysmal.

I’d look towards Chabal as the winner. I’ll check the record of once-raced horses in the Dante but I imagine it’s poor.

Workforce will win this but will fall to the mighty SNA at Epsom :D

    Workforce is incredibly over-rated imo.

Still can’t see how people are negative toward Cape Blanco, looking at the Derrinstown has Aidan really sent his best horses there this year? By the end of today I would think not, the Dante is looking so far the best trial and I would think the winner will come from The Dante, Cape Blano has solid form and maybe the best for m but that would be mile form and not Epsom form but he is my likely winner so far.

Tartan Bearer was no where near experienced enough to win a Dante but still did, came 2nd in the season before, then won a Leicester maiden

Why is Coordinated Cut a place lay for you?

Why don’t you read the post you already quoted?

    Once-raced horses don’t have a great record in the Dante. Runners from 1995 onwards;

    Proclamation – last
    Oman Gulf – last
    Tuning Fork – 2nd (3yo debut)
    Hills of Gold – last
    Slip Stream – 3rd
    Apprehension – 6th/9
    Yorkshire – 7th/9
    Nash House – 4th/7 (3yo debut)

In 1996, 97 and 2000 the Sandown Classic Trial was used as a prep for the winner.

In the past 10 runnings, only Dilshaan and only the subsequent Derby winners Motivator and Authorized won the Dante without a prep.

I really do think Chabal is a great, great bet. His form ties in really nicely with Bullet Train.
