Does anyone do this bet?
Doesn’t seem to be very popular and I thought Tote were going to stop it a while back but you can still do it.
The returns don’t seem to be great as hardly anyone does them so no money in the pool.
Thoughts??
March 24, 2013 at 20:26 #433970I have done the Tote Swinger a few times. Not for a while though for the reasons you mention, very few others seem to like it. It seems to have little promotion now and probably didn’t get enough of a response when it was launched.
It could be quite a good bet if the frame of the race is right, but I suspect its easier to place or EW bet for most people. I’ve no idea how the divs stacked up, but presumably most people were disappointed or it would be more popular.
There’s a few potentially good Tote bets if you are selective, but the reality is that Tote dividends largely rely on the cash from the non-selective to build the pools.
March 26, 2013 at 20:00 #434068Swinger seems to work OK when there’s a strong pool. Big handicaps with lots of runners. I do combination exactas alot and at the festival I had a couple of 1st and 3rd/2nd and 3rds that would have paid Ok off the swinger. eg Ted Veale/Manyriverstocross
