Am with you, Charles on Art Mauresque. He ran well against Waiting Patiently then young Cobden made a bit too much use of him giving him little chance of seeing out the 3 miles next time. Two years since he tried soft ground and I think he might well go on it (won in France on very soft). Scholfield back in the plate (has ridden him in all 6 UK wins).

    Bet365 go 18/1 6 places a quarter and I’ve taken that.

Polidam 12/1 & Highland Lodge 14/1 & Rathlin Rose 33/1 all EW are the ones for me. Polidam is a bit of unknown, but he could be well handicapped. Highland Lodge is a proven jumper and on a lower mark then his recent placings at Aintree. I think the trip shouldn’t really be an issue. Finally Rathlin Rose is having a fantastic season, but isn’t really punished by the handicapper. Could go well too.

Art Mauresque win at 20s and Rathlin Rose EW at around 40s, that’s what I go with.

    Good luck!

With Art Mauresque and Highland Lodge both out I have replaced those two with a couple of e/w naps (5 places) with Bet365.

DEAVILLE DANCER (80/1) – He’s fresh and fit now after a spin round Kempton after a winter break. He was too progressive back in the Autumn to be this big a price.

BIGBADJOHN (20/1) – If he’s in as good form as last time I can see him going close if he takes to the fences. I liked him as a novice but he seemed to lose his way and maybe the change of scenery has done him the world of good.

I backed Deauville Dancer earlier this season, but I have watched last year’s National a few times in the last week or so, noting that Rogue Angel was superb for the first 3+ miles of that race last season.

Rachael Blackmore is great, so a good performance today could set her up for even more media interest tomorrow. I’ve had a small bet each-way.

Deauville Dancer for me also Charles. I remember this time last year Greenasgrass had a massive winner with Ultragold + he will do for me, but not at last years price.
