New Member, long time lurker! Hello to everyone. Must say I enjoy reading the site. Surprised to see TAPK banned, his ramblings are pretty amusing at times!

I’ve only been following the racing (flat) for a year or two (girlfriend got me into it!) and while I really enjoy all the flat, I’m particularly fond of the 5 and 6 furlong contests and I’ve decided to follow closely and specialise this year.

So apart from Dandy Nicholls, can anyone advise any British or Irish trainers that I should really be looking out for?

I suppose Dandy would be the best.

Irish Trainer dont train sprinter…and irish sprinters are dire so doesn’t bear lookin at the irish formbook.

Dandy looks the only specialist trainer i can think of..if your interested in sprinting i think GB+IRE are not the best place to tingle the hairs on the neck.

Milton Bradley has always been a specialist sprint trainer. I’ve also always though of David Barron as a good trainer of sprinters. He’s certainly showing a huge level stakes profit on his sprinters over the last 5 years.

Dandy Nicholls is undoubtedly best known for his dealings with sprinters, but Richard Hannon, John Jenkins, Stuart Williams and Eric Alston (especially fillies) all excel with horses over shorter distances.

Cheers Guys, that gives me a bit to be getting on with. I’m more excited about the season starting than the football, never thought I’d see the day!

    What about Hughie Morrison?

Hughie’s better horses tend to be sprinters, but I wouldn’t say he specialises (15% strike rate compared to 13% across all distances up to and including 12f).
