Im not so sure Starluck doesn’t stay I just think he pulls himself up. In hindsight had Timmy Murphy held the horse up to halfway up the run in he’d have won two lengths. No blame on Murphy though I doubt there’s anyone in the country that thoughtr Starluck would lose when he quickened clear.

However, my wallet hopes he goes straight to Aintree, as there’s an ante-post voucher on Big Buck’s in there!

Fair point Ian, very possible. Do think Murphy is at least partly to blame for any idling. In his previous race Starluck toyed with opposition. Murphy hardly moving on him passing the post. Where as at Chepstow Mr Thriller was driven out right to the line. Hardly surprising Starluck did not know what was expected, and Mr Thriller fought hard.
Noticed in the past how a lot of Noel Meade’s / Paul Carberry’s horses find very little in front. Where as Mark Johnston’s find plenty.
It will be interesting to see if Diamond Harry finds much under pressure in future, after this weekend’s win.
Discuss.
