The popular handicapper who was seven years old and had many races, was killed at Lingfield this afternoon.
Very sad to see.

Oh no I watched this race as I had backed Arecibo and I saw him break down but was hoping against hope not to see his name here. It must have been a horrible injury poor boy
This has thrown a cloud over an enjoyable days racing he was a really useful and tough horse with a big heart, it was awful to see him go this way and love and thoughts to all his connections. RIP ⚘

How awful. I, too had backed Arecibo but thankfully didn’t start watching the racing until after this had happened but I heard the commentator say he had broken down badly.

A very good and consistent horse over the years. Had a 50% strike on the AW.

His owner has a terminal illness, I remember the trainer was telling viewers about it and the horse kept him going. Makes it even sadder.
