I saw this a couple of times and it’s pretty poignant, isn’t it ? Many broadcasters chose rides such as Sea the Stars and Goldikova for their most memorable moment of 2009, but Tom O’Ryan chose Jamie Kyne’s ride aboard Ishetoo. The background music accompanied the image of him laughing with Ishetoo after the race when their heads collided. It was all sad stuff. It also showed Jan Wilson coming down a path on a horse.

He also wrote a very moving tribute to Jamie in the Post at the time.
His selection show just how personal "great rides" can be and to me it says a lot about him as a person.
January 17, 2010 at 18:55 #270479I will be honest, i’m absolutely hopeless with names when it come to pundits in racing. Whenever i see him on tv i’ve always thought he’s well worth listening to, infact one of the best on the racing channels. I saw him as the guy who wears a bunnet and knows his national hunt. It was good to put a name to the face. If i had to make up a dream team of pundits, he would be the leader of the NH brigade !
