Having read Evan Williams (a man I think is a shrewdie) giving his stable lowdown in the Weekender, where he was very sweet on the prospects of L’Astroboy, especially with cut underfoot, I invested at 20-1 for this. When, after final decs, Bet365 then went 25-1 I had some more on (rhymes with moron
) The fact that he had beaten the current fav, Tahmuras, at Ffos Las last year with no obvious excuses but is still more than ten times the price makes me wonder why this gift horse’s mouth should be ignored? No doubt I’ll find out after the event…
January 5, 2023 at 14:49 #1629724Nothing moronic about that, Oscar – interesting bet at a big price.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"January 5, 2023 at 18:39 #1629773You’re not alone, Oscar.
The money is defo down for L’Astroboy; cut to 12s with 365, 10s in places.
January 5, 2023 at 19:03 #1629778It’s nice to have such influence! 😱
January 5, 2023 at 23:44 #1629808Arctic Bresil at 10-3 is my bet as I thought it was a nice win last time
January 5, 2023 at 23:59 #1629811I’ll join you Kris and I’m going to put him in a double with Grangeclare West for the Lawlors as well.
January 6, 2023 at 21:38 #1629925I’ll take an EW chance on Nemean Lion who was 2nd on heavy ground in a Group 2 at Longchamp in 2020 for Godolphin.
Good luck
JoeJanuary 6, 2023 at 22:00 #1629930Olly Murphy’s horses tend to be extremely expensive and massively overrated.
Ukantango however is priced up between 33/1 and 50/1 and also has pretty decent form. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed horses he beat at Wetherby won a race afterwards. His Cheltenham 2nd in a G2 isn’t too bad either, as the winner is 2/2 at Cheltenham this season. Compared to the usual odds-on you get on his horses, the best-priced 50/1 EW is worth a try in an eight runner field.January 7, 2023 at 12:50 #1630015Arctic Bresil for the win, and Ukantango for the place
January 7, 2023 at 13:38 #1630025Ukantango e/w at 50s
January 7, 2023 at 14:00 #1630032Has authorised speed lost a leg ? , I have him winning this pretty easily
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
January 7, 2023 at 14:25 #1630041There are issues about his jumping.
Artic Bresil for me as an unexposed runner who has certainly been thrown in at the deep end.
4/1 is pretty short but he has been sent here early on in career and instead of irish races
Pulling up very soon!!!January 7, 2023 at 14:34 #1630045You got a good run for your money Oscar, he’s one for the future. Ground looked like hard work but Arctic Bresil didn’t go a yard and not just the ground I think. Shades of A Plus Tard at Haydock.
January 7, 2023 at 14:44 #1630048L’Astroboy is the one to take from this race. Looked like he couldn’t get to grips with the sticky ground but still finished well. Bags of potential this one.
January 7, 2023 at 14:45 #1630049That was a nice performance, and he’s got ‘chaser’ written all over him. And that is my problem with the Tolworth being a Gd 1 2m Nov Hurdle; it should really be for future 2m hurdlers, but is usually run on soft/heavy ground, which tends to favour stayers, rather than speedsters.
Make it a Gd2, and take the Gd1 to another track.
January 7, 2023 at 14:48 #1630050Thanks, grass!
Briefly I was hoping to echo the immortal words of Mike007 with ‘Get in!’ but it wasn’t to be!
Don’t tell Chezza but I was on each way so not bad!😱January 7, 2023 at 14:53 #1630053I was gonna say I hope you’re a one hobnob ew punter
nice one
