Today’s Wolverhampton Placepot selections are now up on my blog.
Good luck to anyone having a bet today.

August 30, 2007 at 15:08 #113031Sorry guys, but you just can’t legislate for a horse not coming out of the stalls lol.
Yesterday it was a horse that ‘refused to overtake’ as the RP said, and today it’s a horse that ‘refused to race’ – when your luck’s out, your lucks out lol.

September 4, 2007 at 13:49 #113570Have had a look at Goodwood today…
2:00 – (3)Goodwood Starlight, (6)Tuanku
A first time out Dunlop winner is relatively rare these days, so his runner might be useful and should go well here, whilst Channon’s second string (?) has the winning habit and might have a bit more to pull out.2:35 – (16)Our Tallulah, (20)The Jostler
I don’t like Candle Sahara who looked very one-paced when plodding on into fourth in a weakish race last time. The Jostler has shown enough to suggest a place here should be forthcoming, whilst Our Tallulah will be carrying virtually no placepot money, showed a smidgeon of promise and could still be anything.3:10 – (1)Noddies Way, (3)French Opera
I think Frankchoek might have it all to do here in a much stronger race all-aged race and is opposed in the hope that he might finish unplaced. Noddies Way likes the track and is in good form, whilst French Opera appears to have sound claims.3:45 – (2)Assertive, (5)Dunelight
This is weaker than Dunelight’s last (slightly disappointing) outing, whilst Assertive has shaped as though eventually 7f will be ok and has some nice speed figures.4:20 – (1)Coyote Creek, (5)Out Of Court, (6)Park Valley Prince
Three included with the chance of only two places. The two favourites have reasonable chances, but there are unexposed rivals and Park Valley Prince should be suited by the step up in trip.4:55 – (5)Hansomelle, (6)Murrin
Wouldn’t be getting too carried with a literal interpretation of Hansomelle’s listed run at the weekend, but she is improving and was surrounded by much higher-rated horses, so makes plenty of appeal in a race with tons of early pace – her wide draw could even be an advantage! Murrin is added as a mixer!September 4, 2007 at 14:30 #113581Good luck NV,
I looked at all 3 cards today but didn’t fancy a placepot strong enough to put it up as a selection. Hopefully things will change towards the end of the week.
Good luck today mate.

September 10, 2007 at 14:39 #114328Mike — What has happened to the placepot link which was shown at the bottom of your posts?
September 10, 2007 at 17:08 #114362Sorry SC, I took it off as I was busy over the weekend so didn’t want people to look for non existent placepot selections.
Things will be back to normal from tomorrow. Looking forward to Doncaster as I am more successful at the top class meetings, whereas trying to work out these poor Monday and Tuesday cards is proving quite difficult lol.
Hope you are well,
Mike
September 11, 2007 at 10:39 #114432I think it makes sense to concentrate on the better meetings with all types of bets. I don’t do the placepot much but had a go at Newbury last week – I was successful in the first 5 races and had 3 selections ( which included the fav and 2nd fav ) going in the last race which only had 6 runners in it…………thought I was bound to win……… but I didn’t
Good luck this week at Doncaster – one of my fav meetings of the year to bet on.
September 12, 2007 at 11:56 #114592Sorry, placepot selections have been on my blog for a few hours now, I just forget to mention it
It’s a tough day and I have perhaps made a mistake in going for just one horse in 3 of the 6 races – but I am confident we will get a good run – well we will if Rochefort gets placed in the first lol.
Good luck to everyone having a bet today.

Good luck Tony – that last addition might well be a wise decision .

September 12, 2007 at 12:52 #114600Good luck with your placepot today Mike – you’re a braver man than me as I think the card at Doncaster is a really difficult one but maybe that means the payout will be very good if you are successful..
September 12, 2007 at 16:07 #114633Unlucky today Mikky, you would have thought Cigalas could have got a place with 5 of the 7 seven runners being taking across like that, but by the time they got back across somehow he was last? anyway unlucky m8
September 12, 2007 at 23:31 #114670Absolutely gutted to be honest Tony.
Another very well thought out placepot that hits the cross bar. Here are my results today.
Leg 1: 3rd
Leg 2: 1st @ 5/1 – 2nd @ 6/1
Leg 3: 4th
Leg 4: 1st @ 15/2, 3rd @ 16/1, 4th @ 5/1
Leg 5: 1st @ 5/1, 2nd @ 7/1
Leg 6: 1st @ 7/4 (my NAP of the day)It’s just a bit gut wrenching that the one that let me down was the talking horse of the day, the early morning gamble etc. But for some reason, the horse drifted alarmingly before the race and ran far too free to show it’s best.
There’s always tomorrow lol.

September 14, 2007 at 11:55 #114915Placepot up on blog for today – though I was very close to not making any selections as I fancy a lot of favourites and the pay out might not be too great if successful.
Good luck to anyone having a bet.

September 21, 2007 at 13:06 #115790I only tried doing placepots around 3 months ago (after nearly 25 years of betting LOL) and I’ve won 4 times but God, I’ve lost count on the times I’ve had 5 out of 6.
They can be quite annoying
