Good evening all, in main to my fellow Golfing officianado’s Pete and Crizzy.
Well after a reality check last week it is hoped that this week will turn out better for us all
.I believe there are 8 Tournaments this week, i will be concentrating on 4.
The honour of beginning this week falls on the BMW Championship, the first main Tournament in the UK this Year.
It is good of Ernie to welcome so many guests to his back garden, i myself will be hoping that the host is not victorious come Sunday Evening, in no way suggesting that he nor for that matter Vijay can be triumphant given there current Wentworth CV’S.
5 handed for me here the 1st Four named do not have bad Wentworth CV’S in there own right.
First up i will begin with last years winner Anders Hansen who although not ripping it to bits at present seems to be trained with a repeat in mind.
Up next Paul Casey who if he can return to his Matchplay form of a couple of years ago will i’m sure be in the mix.
In at No 3 and it’s time to call upon Angel Cabrera, here’s hoping that some Duck will still be on the Menu come Sunday Evening
.Next for me and it’s time to call upon someone who’s Wentworth record is right up there with the best, it is with hope rather than expectation that Colin Montgomerie can put some recent indifferent performances behind him.
Finally for me here and i feel i have to stick with Robert Karlsson as although i am not sure about his Wentworth record at least he is on good terms with himself at present.
Moving on to the Crown Plaza Invitational and predictability i am afraid has ruled here
.Anthony Kim, Sean O’Hair, Hunter Mahan and Tim Clark have been given the honour of hopefully triumphing come Sunday Evening.
On next to the first of the Ladies events this week the Deutsche Bank Swiss Open, this has caused me a few headaches through the day but after plenty of pruning
i have come down on the side of Laura Davies and Paula Marti. Finally for me the Corning Classic and having already had one trip to PC World this week in the shape of Paul Casey,
i will not be in a hurry to make another because although to me Paula Creamer is in Horse Racing terms thrown in sometimes these Handicap good things have a habit of coming unstuck, so again not suggesting that for one minute she cannot win i will be looking elsewhere.I have come down on the side of these 3, firstly the latest in a long line of Korean golfers to grace the sport and one who did her chances no harm last week Na-Yeon Choi will be given a rare outing for me.
A couple of long shots complete the voting for me this week, again more in hope tha expectation those in question are Sherri Steinhauerand Kristy Mcpherson.
Well folks that will do it for me so as always whatever your picks BE LUCKY.
Cheers for now.
Adrian.
May 20, 2008 at 13:12 #164546Good luck Adrian and I’ll again start with the ladies and whilst I think that Paula Creamer has a good chance of winning the Corning Classic, her price is too short for my liking so my e/way bets will be going on Inbee Park and Seon Hwa Lee.
On the Euro tour, it’s the BMW Championship at Wentworth which is a course that I do not like. I am backing one of my fav players named Henrik Stenson who has played reasonably well in his last 2 visits to this course and seems to be playing some quite good golf again this year so far after losing the plot in the second half of last season. I’m giving another chance to Robert Karlsson who is playing consistently and I also like the chances of Andres Romero but I’m not sure why

The Crown Plaza on the pga tour looks a difficult one to pick the winner of and I’m going in five handed on a par 70 course where accuracy and good shot making should be important and the long hitters will not have much of an advantage in my opinion ( so expect one of them to win ).
Big Phil is favourite but he won’t win if he sprays the ball all over the place like he has been doing recently. Hunter Mahan has been playing accurately from tee to green this year ( 4th in GIR stats just behind Tiger and VJ ) but is still having problems with his putting. I’m betting on him in the hope he can get it right this week and also hoping he’s fully recovered from his recent illness. I’m not convinced this course will suit Geoff Ogilvy but he’s been in such good form this year that I can’t resist backing him to win along with Heath Slocum who should like this course better than the one at Sugarloaf last week where he did well to finish 8th. Next up is Steve Flesch who won this event in 2004 and has been playing well again during the last 10 months with two victories and a 5th place at the Masters.
I sometimes like to bet e/way on long shots as just a place return ( top 10 ) can produce a very nice profit and this week, I’m betting e/way on Cliff Kresge at odds of 175/1 as this course is similar to the ones he has played well at so far this season.Happy punting

Pete

Let’s hope he can build on that and win that elusive first US tour title soon. - AuthorPosts
